okay I still need to do the hand and other details.  well obviously its still not done and it looks kind of icky and alien-ish but I'll update soon! Any advice?

the shading on the body is good, but the shading on the forehead is a bit funkay.

that's really cool, my friend just did an acrylic in the same style. they always turn out so awesome! (me = don't understand how vexel thingys work) post finished product soon!

It looks like you just put a lot of layers. Did you follow the skin pattern? Not bad though.

I really like the eyeshadow! The background is really pretty, too, thought that's not part of the contest. Heh. :P But I think it looks really nice so far. Good luck with the contest!

The ear is perfectly straight; make it curved. The face needs a bit more shading. The eyshadow is looking pretty good except there is a slant on the right eye (our right). It's a straight line going from the eye to the eyebrow. It should be a bit more curved and blended in.

that's really cool looking. however i'm not feeling the body section. maybe more shading? i mean, i get what you're trying to do but after looking at it for a second, it looks odd. but i like the hair a lot

hey, just a suggestion... the background is kind of busy and detracts from the focal point (the face). so maybe if you made the background one colour and not have the weird pattern things (which are pretty, but don't really work here). but, just a suggestion. i liked it with a plain background. (remember? focal point! wasn't that like the thing we talked about most on line)
have a good summer, trying out for TYP next year? (last question is totally irrelevant. just curious!) |

and if i were to pick a colour for the background, i think i'd go with the light gray (the 2nd from the top?). try different ones and see what you like best!

some of the layers are too dark (near the shoulder) and the shading on the forehead is too square. The nose seems a bit to prominent and the lips are a bit crooked.
nice job though, the hair is nice and so are the eyes. the eyeshadow is so realistic! and the shading on the shoulder is very nicely done. Keep up the good work! |
