I've mentioned this before, but I guess I can mention it again; the LV monogram pattern is played out. I see more fakes on a day to day basis of the classic Louis Vuitton monogram more than anything else. I know a few guys at my school that have fake Louis Vuitton 'pleather' goods with this specific pattern, and some of the fakes are pretty believable. So, to treat myself to an early graduation gift with some cash, I bought myself a wallet, but, I chose the Damier pattern. Now, I'm not naive enough to believe that vendors won't begin to sell fakes of this pattern once the popularity increases, however, Damier is hot right now, Monogram is not.

i love that print! i was going to get a purse in it, but a knock-off because lv is one designed i'm not paying for.

Actually the monograms are still hot (because of all the different styles they come in), and the Damier pattern has been around just as long.

Ive gone up to peopel and told them they make me sick for having the HORRIBLE knockoffs. ah, they just make me mad. I think if you're gonna have it, have the real thing. i personally, don't want all the designer stuff. One, because it's leather, and Two, It's neat and stuff, but over--um, worn? right now.

what exactly is a knockoff? like a very similar duplicate? hmm... well i guess it is sort of not fair for other brands stealing their ideas, and it's not illegal because they aren't exactly alike

I can't go vegan because
1 I love grilled cheese 2 I love chocolate milk (silk is too sweet) 3 I love fine european vehicles and the leather they use 4 I love wallets 5 If its not edible, I'm not sure what animal it came from |

I saw lots of Damier knockoffs the last time I went to Beijing. But not so much in New York...here's what I found about knockoff qualities around the world.
In Beijing, the styles are much more current and more is available: you name a Louis Vuitton bag, they've got it. The quality is better too (if there is such a thing as a good quality knock-off). And you know, the "leather" actually smells like it. In New York...it's all multicolore monogramme, or the cherries and whatnot. Mostly trendy stuff that appeals to the general public's knowledge of LV products (namely, the stuff 10 year old girls want). The quality...is bad. The stitching's off, the colours are badly off hue. Just...blah. And that's my shopping tip for designer knockoffs. |
