Wrong forum.. this belongs in webdesign.
For me I use - Photoshop - Paint shop pro and for animated icons i use animation shop and image ready. Animation shop comes with paint shop pro and image ready comes with photoshop. |

But, also, if you can't download them or pay them (since they have a trial) you can use paint. >.> There are a bunch of tutorials for paint. (: |

you can do it on ms paint too. just change the box to 50 by 50 and add whatever you'd like

I usually use Adobe Photoshop 7, and I change the size to 100x100.
