Wellll, me and my friend were just wondering this because once I went into this room and this Newbie double posted and everyone was like screaming [well, maybe not screaming... just saying in a mean way] at the poor guy ["Ugh, don't double next time. _dry.gif "] but then I went into another room and this guy with like 2,000 posts triple-posted but no one said a thing. blink.gif Be honest!!!

I say No because there are members here that haven't even reached 1000 posts and I respect them. Agreed, the quality of their posts are significant. I've seen some who spam a lot or just post for the sake of posting--and those people are not really ones that I'll respect.

What I DON'T like is when people treat me as if I'm different and act as if I'm too elite to talk to those that aren't--that's NOT who I am.. or would treat me better than someone else. :sweating: I'm just the same as everyone else, despite certain privileges I have and my post count. Nothing less, nothing more.

There may be quite a number of people who thinks more posts=more respect worthy. This is silly, but it's also because the person who thinks this way wants to fit in. I would say to these people, if you want to fit in, follow the community guidelines as well as tips and hints on how to post.

Normally, if a newbie double post, he/she is violating two rules. Number one is double posting and number two, most likely, spamming. Again, this is a general observation.

no. its the quality of their post, not quantity. I can spam this board to death but doubt everyone will respect me ;)

I agree with that.
I'll respect a relatively new member who doesn't spam and has interesting posts.

On the other hand, there are quite a number of people who have more posts than I do but do not really gain too much respect from other members.

Yeah, I see that going on sometimes.
But I try to act fair on both.
But you can't deny that the dude with 10, 000 posts knows cb better than the noob.

No, not at all. I mean, if you have 100000000 posts and you suck, i'm not going to respect you. If you post important things then why the hell not!

I have high respect for some members who have high post count ( such as Brie, Kathleen, Christina, etc.), but that's because I know they put thought into their posts. It's quality over quantity really. I won't respect a noob with 647328945647 posts that are all spam, y'know? And I respect some of the newbies because the actually think before they post.

So really it depends.

^ i agree with you. its just sometimes the newbies probably didnt read the guidelines and didn't pay attention to the rules. sometimes even the people with alot of posts still spam the topic.

This is for the most part, true. That is because these... members, most of the time, tend to be more familiar with the other, more familar members. It just builds up from there. =)

More posts don't exactly mean more respect, I think they just mean your more recognized and known compared to someone who just started.

Nope..I don't think so, at least. Look at Susan, she has more posts than anyone, but do people give her respect? I didn't think so.

Not really. A newbie who is respectful, reads and follows all the rules, is helpful, but only has lets say 200 posts will be way more respected than someone who is rude, spams, doesn't follow the rules and has 9000 posts. If you think having more posts gives you more respect, then that is sad. I can name a few off the top of my head people who have thousands of posts and are spammers and unhelpful.

well if a person with over 1,000 posts double posts, if i see them i will say "Make sure u dont double post next time" because they know the rules obviously for how long they have been at createblog! they haveno excuses. But if a noob messes up on accident i will just pm them saying "Hey uhh... u might wanna watch how many times u post in a topic. next time try the edit button ^_^." i guess i am sterotyping a little but its the truth and my look at it

Yup.
Who cares if you have 1,000 posts. That's what annoys me - like, in people's sigs, they write the time or date or even the thread of their 1,000 post. Who cares? It's what you SAY in the post that matters. It's what shows you're the person you are, what you have to say. It shows whether you're intelligent and able to hold a conversation (or topic idea), or if you're just a complete dumbf**k.

That didn't even really make sense, but you probably get the general idea, right?

Granted, the more posts you have, the more people will recognize you, but still. That doesn't mean everything.

that could of been a coincidence or something like that but no matter how many posts you have, you are not supposed to doubt/triple/quadruple post. mellow.gif and yes, people with more posts probably get more respect than people with like 3 posts because it (most of the time) shows that they have been here longer. :\

for most people yes, but if you spam a lot or is a very abominable person (like the old me), people still don't respect you.
