I saw on the news that by the year 2010, 70% of Canadian and American kids (ages 1-18) will be overweight...

Man... and i thought it was bad enough as it is...

You're Canadian. Get over it. You have incredibly gorgeous internet models, damn good hockey players, a bigger football field, and a national rep as 'the nice guys.' But, then again, I'm overweight and I'm 5'8, 155 and mostly muscle.

I agree, he's jstu sharing soem information that he thinks is interesting. i't snot like he said "omg, I ahte overwight ppl" or something.

anyway, I think that's kinda sad ya, but ti's cause of all the fast food an stuff and blah ya. I'm really thin. so are my two brothers. my parents....arn't that thin. they arn't really that big but I beleive my mom is slightly over weight for her height.

When they had kids they decided to go all healthy. so we did. I eat whole wheat pasta, flax seed pancakes, and diet everything. Low fat sour cream, low fat feta cheese, light hot chocolate powder, you name it. Harldy ever get take out.

it's worht it :satisfied:

it's not all the fast food, my best friend used to be overweight and she never ate that stuff.

quite frankly i don't even think the weight thing is even that bad, like how many people were polled for that hypothesis? i don't know anyone or even heard about a poll like that.

i just think that the world is too hell bent on being thin and that there are way too many skinny ass famous people. they're the ones that spurred this "omg i'm so fat" thing. i'm less than 4 pounds away from being underweight and that surprised me because i'm not as thin as the people you see on tv, those skinny mischa bartons and paris hiltons.

Are they accounting for athletes who have muscle instead of fat in those stats? I dunno... they just sound odd. Sad, if they are true, although it is now being sad that it is healthier to be slightly overweight than underweight (oops, I'm 6 pounds underweight, I'm screwed XD).

Well, regardless if people are going to be overweight or not, they're still people. From the statistics (not talking about the topic starter), it seems that they care too much about overweight people. mellow.gif

But hey, its kinda interesting to know this kinda stuff..

As usual...some people just seem to miss the point.

Obesity is on the increase due to poor quality cheap fast food. Less and less children are being properly fed a balanced diet including quality protein for muscle development and maintenance, vitamins and minerals for proper development and maintenance of all vital organs hormone balance and nutrient absorption, and the correct mix of carbohydrates and fats for energy and to help burn off excess calories.

In addition, cheap food has a long term genetic influence upon the quality of the chromosomes passed onto children: cheap food = stupid children.

Obesity is on the increase across the World!! But it is due to crap food, lack of exercise due to computer gaming, dvd/video entertainment & TV plus the general attitude of kids these days as a result of these factors that has created the apathy and in fact the 'denial' factor as demonstrated in some of these posts.

Obesity not only is the pre-cursor to some terrible diseases: diabetes, chronic heart disease and cancer to name but a few, but of course create an enormous financial strain upon society. The more obesity, the less working hours put in due to illness and the greater the expense to the Nation in order to fund the Healthcare necessary to treat the problem.

Lower productivity, higher taxes, more unhappy overweight people...

Need I say any more?

Peace Out

Right... this is coming from the guy who called overweight people "lardasses" in this thread.

It's not an assumption really. It's a just suspicion. Eh...
