I'm working on the graphics section of my subdomain, and I was wondering if anyone knew how you could have a link to the large image, and then when you click on it a new window pops up with that image in it, full size, but instead of a normal window, it's just the title bar (with the x and all) and the image.

Am I just jabbering? Or does anyone know what I mean?

OOH. Example. Go to http://citrusmoon.typepad.com/citrusmoon/ and click on the patterns on the left. I know it's just that background tiled, but that's the kind of window I'm looking for pinch.gif

... I somehow think you do something like this.
CODE
<a href="whatever.jpg" target="blank"><img src="whatever.jpg" height="50"></a>
I'm probably very, very wrong like usual.
----
I knew. I was wrong.
CODE
<TR><TD width="90" height="90" background="http://citrusmoon.typepad.com/photos/tiles/3t1.gif" style="border: 1px solid #000000;"><a href="test.html" onclick="tile('http://citrusmoon.typepad.com/photos/tiles/3t1.gif');return false">
That's how that one person did it... So I'm thinking it a lot more like this ::
CODE
<a href="test.html"onclick="tile('WINDOW TITLE');return false"><img src="whatever.jpg" height="50"></a>
Well, you change the href part, but d'ya get what I mean...?

so far, the first two don't work... I may keep trying to tweak them...

but Gotnoheart, the link you sent, I'm not sure I understand. Isn't that where you strip the window of everything and start over? I don't think I'd need all that...

still confused? pinch.gif

I guess that isn't as simple as I thought. I use a different code for my sub-domain, but it's PHP. Does it matter? Or do you need HTML?

Hmm, I don't think my subdomain supports php, I'd have to check, but I don't remember seeing it. Is there an html version?

ha, sorry to be such a pain. pinch.gif but I was going through those search terms, not exactly knowing what a "chromeless window" was, if it was what I was looking for... but I got a pretty good idea of it when I got to LissaExplain's site... if you go to that page, it gives an example of a chromeless window. It's different colors and only has an [x] button... and I really don't need all of that.

Is there a way to get a window that just doesn't have the 'file' menu and the address bar and all of that other stuff at the top? Or no?

Really, sorry to be such a n00b, I just want my site to be wonderful... _unsure.gif

That's what it does though. You use the script in the first box and follow the instructions. You have to download that chromeless.zip or else it won't work. The code I use works the same way. What chromeless means is that it doesn't have the address bar or menu or anyhting like that. If you were to link it to an image, a regular window will pop up with only the image and nothing else. Did you try the demo? It works nicely.

I found this in the blogger scripts, does it work the same way?

edit// I just tried this out on my blogger, and it's not quite the same thing, but you know what? I have the links I need if I ever try this, so feel free to go ahead and close this. Thanks, gotnoheart, you were really helpful biggrin.gif

That looks like a good code actually. But, sorry I couldn't help you, but you're welcome for all the information. happy.gif
