ok so theres these two guys i know. Josh and Will. They are both in one of my classes together. I knew Will last year and met Josh this year. Last year I could tell Will had a crush on me. Josh i like as a friend but could possibly consider having a relationship with. Will I would just prefer to be friends with. Will and Josh just met this year in the class that I am in.

My friend Samantha, who is also in my class with them, was sitting outside one day a couple weeks ago waiting for class. Will was out there and Josh came up to him and was all "ok ill come up with a few chords you can play for her and she'll be going to prom with you in no time" I overheard this part because i walked by them on the way into class. I was hoping they werent talking bout me because I would say no if he asked me to prom. I mean he's a nice enough guy and all but I would like to go with someone I actually like. Anyway Samantha told me a couple days ago that the conversation continued after what I had heard. Will then replies to Josh "Ya but you like her more than I do." Samantha thought they were talking about me because they dont hang out together other than this class and they both tend to flirt with me in class. I believed her and talked to my friend Kyle who is good friends with Josh. I told him about the incident and that i would rather go with Josh if he liked me.

The next day, yesterday, Kyle told me online that they werent talking about me. I felt so stupid and concieted! I just played it off going "whew! i dont need this much drama in my life anyway" and he laughed. A couple hours later I saw Samantha at a party I went to. I told her they werent talking about me and she said it sounded like a cover up.

So do you think it's a cover up or are they really talking about somebody else? Or how do i go about finding out if is was a cover up or not?

Just wait for the scene to unravel.
If they were talking about you then you will get asked to the prom. If they weren't, then you won't.
It could be either one you could ask around some more though.

Wait? Wait until Will asks me out using some big spectacle? And if I say no ill embarrass him, hurt his feelings and make myself look like a mean bitchy girl. And if I say yes I'll just be a liar cause it would be a pity date and end up hurting his feelings in the long run while ruining not only my night but his night to cause i never wanted to go with him in the first place?

Better question, how can i let him down easily if they were talking about me?

There's a chance that it is a cover-up...but then again...it could be about some other girl......you'll find out sooner or later....

Just tell him you don't think of it that way and that you only want to be friends.

But yea, I suggest you wait for the question.
