i dont think if this topic belongs here but..

what should you recommend people of high school undecided on their course??
for example, a person interested on some particular subject, (eg. computer- a course fitted is BS computer etc.)... something like that..

i wouldn't recommend anything. i believe that they should choose for themselves and we shouldn't pressure them into anything.

start from something u've always had interest in.. n look over the GE look when u sign up for classes and see if u like any classes on it..

i think out of my GE classes, sociology was the most interesting class.. it was something different.. also political science classes sound interesting.. i haven't taken a class yet but i have a good friend who is a polisci major and his classes look interesting..

but i'm not sure if that's a good indication of choosing ur major.. i've known people who went through a whole year of science courses and switched to like, polisci and vice versa...

but yea.. look through the school's GE list and take something that sounds interesting and also fulfill a GE requirement.. if u don't end up liking it at least u still fulfill A requirement.. :)

Make sure it's something that you're interested in, and find that you can make a career out of it, because my worst fear is that i go to college, and do a really stupid course 'cause my father put to much pressure on me, and i leave not knowing what i want to do in life. >_<

u have to remember it's just 1 course.. out of how many courses u have to take anyways?

since my first year, this is the courses i've taken:

Chem 20 A
Chem 20 B
Chem 20 L
Chem 30A

Life Science 1
Life Science 2
Life Science 3

Math 31B
Math 32A

Physics 6A

English 3

Chinese 1A
Chinese 2A
Chinese 3A

so far these are required for my major and to graduate from my college

the "fun" classes include

Italy 42A (history of italy from fall of roman empire to renaissance)
History 1A (ancient civilizations with a TA i couldn't understand)
Sociology something (it was at a JC at summer school)

and i've used the whole "parental pressure" excuse before.. but if u look deep down enough, u'll realize u put urself through all these science courses cuz u want to.. or else u would have already talked to ur parents about switching majors..

i talked to my parents about going into like, um, history or women's studies.. but then deep down inside i found my drive and want in the science field.. n also i'm kinda like.. what am i gonna do w/ a history degree? go to law school? nahhh.. pharm over law!

mm i'm not exactly sure what you mean. are you going to college in the fall and looking for classes to attend?

i'd say, at least have an idea of what field (science/math vs. humanities/writing) and take more courses in that field. do what you're interested in! i mean, i don't know your personality very well, but usually clubs that you have participated in for high school can provide you an idea of what might interest you. philosophy, sociology, and psychology courses are generally very appealing to anyone intellectual, regardless of major/academic interests.
