okay, i see moorepocket already submitted a great (and complete!) myspace stylesheet here, but i decided to show the one i modified and now use... i tried to make it really compact. i don't think it's really complete, but it has always worked for me. i guess this is mainly for newbs to coding, or just lazy designers such as myself. just replace all the words in capital type. here it is:
this is what the classes change: -body edits things about the body of the page... pretty self explanatory. -td, table, etc. edits the boxes.. i don't know how to explain it. set the first variable to "transparent" and the second to "none" if you don't know what you're doing. -nametext, whitetext12, btext, etc. edits the headers (where it says like "Contacting So and So" and your name above your picture). -lightbluetext8, blacktext12, etc. edits where it says "General, Music, etc.", and anything in a table (basically the main text). -orangetext edits where it says "So and So's Blurbs" or anything with an orange background on the default myspace layout. -a:link, [insert a bunch of link classes here], etc. edits all the links. -a:hover, [insert some more hover classes here], etc. edits what the links look like when your mouse hovers over them -table, td, tr, edits the tables like the first class, but edit this one if you want borders around the boxes (i believe the first one puts borders around everything, which isn't what most people want... or maybe one of these classes is unnecessary... i dunno). you can also use the "float" variable in this to move the whole page to one side. if the above is too confusing, think of it like this: -the nametext etc. class edits the headers. -the lightbluetext8 etc. class edits the main text. -the orangetext edits some other headers (i have it in a separate class -because i don't display it, but you can choose what to do with it). -the a:link class etc. edits links. -the a:hover etc. class edits the hovers. -the table, etc. classes edit the tables. if you don't know what to put where the capital words are, here's an explanation: COLORCODE: put a six digit hex code in this spot (don't put a # sign in front of it, it won't work); example "ffffff". BORDERCODE: put a border code in here; example "2px solid 000000". FONTNAME: put the name of the font face you want to use here; exmaple "arial". FONTSIZE: put the size you want the font to be, followed by pt or px; example "8pt". FONTWEIGHT: put "none", "bold", "italic", or "underlined" in here. TEXTTRANSFORM: put "none", "uppercase", "lowercase", etc. in here. i hope this helps some people, or at least makes coding myspace easier. and if it gets a warm response, maybe one of the mods can pin it. |
