Yes, I think it would calm a lot of people down. It would also allow people to express their ideas to more than just a few mods.

A whole forum dedicated to it is pretty pointless in my opinion. If people actually wrote decent or adequate responses in the Moderator Performance thread, that would be nice. And if there was a whole forum for it, wouldn't it get out of control? Wouldn't it be an opportunity for both members and moderators to be bashed upon?

Oh, I'm pretty sure they're happy, Sammi. _dry.gif

I don't think it's necessary.
Afterall, all people have to suggest is like 3 or 4 things, so it's just basically a forum to spam and just a waste of space.
If they really have a suggestion, they can bring it up to the moderators. Or even talk to them AIM/MSN.
That's what happened when I was an admin. People suggested things, and I considered it. We even got a few of them to work.

MY LAST 2 CENTS.

Then why not have a PINNED topic about it. Suggestions for the forum are different then the mod topic dears.

And Sammi and Mona- Now really, how is that (your little sarcastic remarks) going to help?

*claps to rachel*

yes, sammi, im thrilled

yes we should have suggestions forum. regular members need a place to express their views somewherewhere they will not automatically be told to be quiet and accept the decisions given to them

its a brilliant idea

yay finally some way to calm everyone down a little. =D

I think we should have a suggestion forum, how would anyone know how many posts would be in this forum if it hasnt even been put up yet? i say set it up see how it goes, if its pointless in 4 months or so then take it down. Mods have their own forum for suggestion so should the regular members were part of CB too.

and sarcasm isnt gonna help much, keep it positive =]

Well..I don't think we should have a forum..like Rachel said, maybe jus a pinned topic. Then again, I think it would turn out pretty chaotic..liek the mods suggestion forum. I think it might cause a bit of..crazyness. I don't really think we should. I think if people have a suggestion, they should PM one of us, then we can discuss it backstage or something.

I do not think a suggestion forum is necessary. If they have a suggestion, they could always just bring it up to one of the mods/admins.

Exactly. And yes I think a suggestion forum would be nice. So the members voice can be heard and cB can start feeling more like a community

I'll reply in here since another member quoted it. Well, now the members can be happy because they get a chance to vote and they're not being forced to accept all the decisions and not get a say; that's all. I'm happy for them.

a pinned topic would not work, and here's why:

in a topic, you can only have one, maybe two things to discuss. If there is just a pinned thread, everything will be jumbled together, much like the moderator's performance thread which played host to a myriad of topics, leading to confusion and redundancy.

and so, a separate forum is needed; spam could be cut back by not having it contribute to post count.

Agreed. A pinned topic would not work at all and the Mod performance thread is the perfect example...

As for a suggestion forum, I have no comment.

I agree that this should be a pinned topic and that post count should be disabled. Also, irrelevant posts should be deleted. I think this is a good idea, but I don't want it to be chaotic.

apparently posts count mean wether or not you become part of CB staff though.

edit// that post just vanished, i am NOT seeing things O.o;; this isnt a double post.

Obviously, the whole basis of the Suggestion Forum is so that more members can have an input on others in the communitys' ideas...
