Kids TRYing to be MATURE, heh.. Options

Ever see middle school punks cussing and using curse words? See them trying to have a bf/gf? Hmmm, it's funny. Roaming around these forums, i see kids at the age of 12?? cussing and cursing like no tomorrow. 12 year olds have gf/bf and are asking for relationship tips. Sorry folks, but this gets to me. When i think of a 12 year old, i think about an innocent middle schooler with the sweetest smile, but seeing what i have been lately, changes my perspective. Just a Thought, i may be wrong and biased.

I don't want to start a flame battle but..
I just want to let you kids know that you're still young,
live life as a kid. It only comes once. Once you're in highschool, Academics become harder, Drama will be crazier and WAY WORSE THINGS WILL HAPPEN.. drugs, sex, violence.. in general.. you'll miss being a middle schooler. Everyone is so happy and careless. Don't try growing up so FAST!! Take my advice. Getting a job.. working.. school.. SATs.. college acceptance.. it isn't fun. I'm just pointing out that, people should calm down and try looking at their life in a different perspective. Are you really old enough to have a bf or gf and understand love? I know i surely am not.. It's late.. my brain my be wack.. but. I'm pretty sure I gave a strong analysis.

cussing /= maturity. in fact, i see it as a indication of immaturity, that is, if it is used excessively and for no reason. rushing into relationship is also another sign of immaturity. i think you misused "mature". it would have been better if you said "kids trying to grow up too quickly".

Ok, first of all arent you suppose to be 13 and up to post on this forum....it is a law i believe...anyways yeah kids try to act grown make me sick...and there an abundant of this kids that try to come across this way on cb....meh...i wish i was still a kid...those were the most carefree days

I wont lie tho, I cussed in jr hi, but very rarely because I thot my friends would think bad of me...not cuz I thought it was cool. But yeah I've always had a bad mouth, cuz my mommy has a bad mouth haha. But it is frustrating cuz the same kids who think they are all grown up and can have boyfriends are the same ones who come on here asking about hair on their "goods" and talking about how gross sex is. they dont know where they want to be. Its really frustrating. But I guess thats youth for you. Its bad tho because parents really arent helping much. I mean have you guys been to a limited too? The skirts are like microscopic, and mothers actually let their 12 year olds walk around in public like that. I think it should be required that every parent watch the movie thirteen. It will scare the crap out of most of them and maybe they will rethink how they raise their kids.

you do have a good point. i've always had this impression that kids now-a-days are trying to grow up faster.
younger girls are dressing waaaay to old for their age and really it disturbs me. and yeah, like you mentioned the cursing is a problem. i admit i cursed sporadically and when i did it made me feel like im soo much older.
it's just really sad to see the younger kids now-a-days trying to act older than their actual age. yuck.

Yeah I see that a lot. I see lots of middle schoolers cussing a lot, having bfs/gfs and saying they love them and breaking up with them the next day, and dressing up in clothes they shouldn't be wearing till they're atleast highschool. Ahh gosh it's so annoying how they try to act all mature and grown up

I'm completely annoyed by the fact that some kids theses days are trying to act more mature(what they think is mature) than they should be and that just makes them even more immature in my mind.

The worst situation I ever saw was when I was at the bowling ally with my family and right in the next lane, a group of theses kids were being extremely obnoxious, putting up distasteful repulsive words as there names on the screen as well as saying them. My mother complained and even asked one of the girls name. She appeared stoned/drunk and replied with "I dunno, ask her." They only seemed like they were 11 or 12, small with a pound of makeup on their faces.

No parents were around of course; it may not be so much the kid's fault but also the parent's for allowing such obscenity. Parents should keep more track of their youngsters. I'm really surprised at how it is now days, all though I'm nearly 17, back when I was that age I thought "crap" was a swear word and refused to say such things lol.

And well , remember when you kids were 12 , about 6th grade. You never had a crush on a guy/girl before? or you never cursed?. Just because your older now doesnt change a thing.

Kids in my school have already started doing that since they were 11, i seen this girl who is in her first year, so she is 11 [schools are different in the uk] anyway she was up the field going with some boy, i was like they havent even gone through puberty yet and they are doing stuff like that. Most the girls and boys in my year started acting grown up and hard when they were 12 or 13, people act differently when they move to a new school.

Yeah if ya black, if I hear some one of another race say "what up nigga" I look at them funny because i'm black. I have yet to hear someone of another race come into a room full of black people and say "whats up my niggas" and it wont because its not socially acceptable and I am sure that certain someone doesnt want to risk a beat down either

Well , you would be surprised on how many different races say this. I hear ALOT of hispanics refering to "nigga" as "friend". Now I havent yet heard a white`person say that ( well , in movies )

but then again , "nigga" isnt meant to be offensive , at all.

I understand where you're coming from and I hear alot of other races use nigga in terms as friend and they are not being racist at all. I even see it here on cb. And ya know thats cool. But my thing is they wont say to the people that count. Which is black people. Because it wont fly, at least with most. I have very good friends who are of a different races but they know not to cross that line.

School is still hard, and even kids in Middle School are pressured with drugs, sex, and violence..

I'm only 13, but I do know you feel retarded when everyone around you has a boyfriend/girlfriend and your the only one whose single and always has been..

Maybe not exactly, that’s about the age when you have to worry about collage, your future, stuff like that.

But, just on the 12 year olds side.. its really hard to act like a kid when everyone expects you, treats you and is grown up around you.

Though I do agree whole heartedly on the whole being ‘in love’ thing.. A 12 year old cant be in love.

Personally I think its down right patronising for 16 years olds etc. to say that 12 year olds are kids and tehy shouldn't be having sex, smoking, and so on. I remember being 12 and I was just about as mature as I am now. I agree with AngelTears, noone enjoys being 12, waiting to be alowed to do anything. I had my first cigarette, kiss and cuddle at 11, my first drunken experience at 12, and etc. etc.
'Kids' are about as mature as us, and if anyone thinks that they are better than them just because they are a few years older, then that's called just being a prick.
