i'm a hardcore xanga user.. i havnt even heard of myspace till recently when, it seem like everybody is converting to myspace, ditching xanga.
now, the big news is, "Is myspace soo much better then xanga?" or is it just a big hype? what are your thoughts on this? what does myspace have that can't compare with xanga? |

We must have had at least a billion threads on this. I haven't checked, but it must have been.
But anyways, xanga. Everything you do on Myspace you can pratically do on Xanga. etc. |

xanga:
the good- bloggin community, lots of member, customizable layouts. the bad- limits on iframes, php, and only 1 page of content. myspace: the good- lots of members, dating service (does anyone here actually use it? i sure dont...), customizable layouts (somewhat). and blog service. the bad- layout customalization is limited, jsut like xanga, but even worse. you cant use javascript, and no php/shtml support. only 1 page of content is allowed. both allow you a subdomain http://xanga.com/username, http://myspace.com/username. but overall, xanga wins because it allows you to customize your page more. myspace is hyped up right now tho. it wont last as long as xanga. but xanga has been around a little longer, so you never know really. if you want more control over your page, i suggest gettign a webhost and starting your own site/blog/page. |

Blogger is borrrrringggggggg.....*yawn*
The only good thing is you code in HTML which it easier Xanga is my place of choice. Even though there are alot annoying kids that TyP3 LYK3 ThIs( actually you can find this anywhere on the net)..its still great. i never have a shortage of good material to read and I have gotten to know and love all my xanga buddies. I have even met a few. Myspace-...i would say not for the serious blogger. I see myspace as a profile kinda place. Where people ohhh and awwww over people's pics. Its a good way to just send random notes to the people on your friendlist but thats pretty much it. Also it easy to design so that helps. |

they seem exactly the same to me except with myspace you can put a little emotion on how you feel.

blogger- for serious bloggers who aren't concerned about how many 'propz' they can get, or how many people will comment. The posts aren't all about what the blogger did that day, or an account of an event that happened.

I like using both simultaneously but of course overall when it comes to blogging, my preference goes to Xanga...

QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Apr 24 2005, 12:46 AM) blogger- for serious bloggers who aren't concerned about how many 'propz' they can get, or how many people will comment. The posts aren't all about what the blogger did that day, or an account of an event that happened. You can disable props on xanga. And I read alot of serious, entertaining, in-depth content on there. Once you weed through all the prop seekers on xanga you can get down to some really good material. meh...but i am basis because I have been on xanga for years. |

I like xanga better, I've always used xanga to blog and meet friends.
I've tried myspace before and I didn't like it, the sole purpose of myspace is to comment to each other, post pictures and meet friends. The blogging part of myspace is somewhat overlooked to most members. So basically, what I'm saying is xanga is used for blogging and myspace is used for friends; like friendster. Xanga wins on my list. |

It really depends on what your intentions are.
If you want people to really get a lot out of your posts and what not, I would say Blogger. If you want to post some okay entries and bitch about your life and hope that people comment to make you feel better, I'd go with Xanga. If you are just looking to make friends, post up slutty pictures to get guys to say you are attractive and to not really post at all, then Myspace all the way! |

I like myspace because I can look through all the people and stuff, I don't know how to explain it, it's addicting. And you meet new friends and stuff.
Xanga is cool, a lot of my friends are on it, so yeah, and you blog more on tehre, and it's not all based on looks, well lately all the people getting featured are hot "emo" guys, which are probably fakes and they probably got their picture from a guy on myspace. Myspace is slightly better. Then again , I can just be getting bored of xanga and the stupid people and their drama and shit. |

I find myspace annoying, I half ditched it...meaning I still look at it but never use it and whatnot.
I <3 my xanga. |

Is this really debate? Or is just preference? Seems people are beginning to post only preferences.
