I'm doing a vector in photoshop(8.0) and I was wondering if any what filter or something would I use to get the skin smooth?

A vexel/vector is made up of paths. In order to get it to be smooth, you have to do a lot of paths for the skin and make it detailed. If you use the blur filter or something, then it's not a true vexel. Blurring is not good.
