i use to live somewhere much more populated and music loaded fine on xanga. but since i have moved i notice the music takes a good 2-4 minutes to load sometimes longer. i have taken my playlist out since. it wasnt just my xanga but everyones. i am using the same laptop. it was fine where i use to live. any suggestions? i know this is kind of dumb to ask, but its annoying that i cant have music. its only xanga too. myspace, geocities, angelfire, and etc are all fine. thanks in advance.

Um..population has nothing to do with it. lol How big is your file and is it an mp3? You might have to convert it. =\

i think what you mean by population is that where you live you aren't getting good internet service maybe because your internet service provider is small, local, services only a relatively small number of customers, and doesn't have a fast connection to the huge backbone internet cables (i.e. tier 1 (1000 mbps), OC12, T3 networks, etc.) that is more widely available in cities or more urban areas. so yes, where you live may have an impact on the speed of your connection. are you using dial-up, dsl or cable? check with your internet service provider. tell them you're having problems connecting to certain sites. if you're using windows media player on your xanga. show the controls, click on options, and set your connection speed, network buffering and make sure your streaming proxy settings are set to autodetect.

well me and my aunt use to have the same dial up and she lived in the suburbs and i live in the city and she came to my house and used my computer and said mine was slower then her's.. so its possible.. but most likely it depends how big the music file is.. it takes me about 1 minute

The cause may be, that you need to clean out your computer maybe. Because SOMETIMES but not all the times, you might have too many files and programs on your computer that slows it down. Maybe try deleting some programs or files you don't need or use. I hope that helped!!

QUOTE(aNg3LBaBi3 @ Apr 21 2005, 11:58 AM) they're usually wmas (mostly) or mp3s. i dont rlly know how big, sry. i just get them from xanga music providers. wmas take faster to load, but sometimes longer. If you're using an mp3, it'll take very long to load due to the size amount of the file. mp3's are large music files, so dont expect them to load very fast unless you have a high-speed internet somesort. i think radioblog is better, because it's easier for me to load stuff even if i have like 10 songs. so, sure. you can try and see if it gets better. |

thanks everyone for responding. i have comcast cable and the city i live is just starting to "boom" within the last year and a half. the internet is fast but where i use to live is faster. i basically have problems with anything that has to do with xanga, including createblog sometimes. about the too many programs, i just reformatted. i have nothing on here rlly. about radioblog, where the heck can i get one? i have only seen it browsing xangas, i know nothing about them. do they have to be so bigg? thanks in advance.

QUOTE(Spiritedfreak @ Apr 22 2005, 5:51 PM) tutorial for putting radioblog onto your xanga: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56585 the radioblogs work very nicely. i am using one myself and it streams clearly. it's probably the file size and type, radioblog take cares of that. btw: i have 40 songs on my radioblog and it works just as if i had 5 songs on it.
