I have a feeling that AntiVirus programs don't really work, for example several times i caught viruses that it didnt. :S welll... anyways.. I just had a virus infecting my computer, along with several trojans.. one worm.. etc. so messy. -_- Luckily EVERYTHING is better now. i hope ..at least. I use Norton Antivirus and Ad-Adware. What about you? What is you're past experiences with computer problems?

I use Norton Internet Security, which has Norton AntiVirus, and I also use Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

I don't use software firewall or any anti-virus software. And no I dont not ever touch my computer, im on it 24 hours a day when I'm home and I'm a major internet freak so I download stuff too.
it's been almost a year since my last reformat, computer performance is still at its best, 0 adware/spyware or viruses. anyways... conclusion being, you dont need to "stop surfing too much" or "buy this antivirus software" to protect yourself, the cheapest way is learning how to protect your computer after ebing infected a few times and when had to go through the trouble of cleaning/formating it. like I posted in another thread. Dont open executable or scripted attachments. Dont download anyhting from unreliable sources, use the Popup blocker in IE/Firefox to block all popups (for the ones you want open, hold ctrl). Defrag every month. get spybot. You should be fine. |

spybot search and destroy .. which never seems to make much of a difference .. ad-aware is okay.
