QUOTE(Heathasm @ Apr 16 2005, 2:20 PM) its just a dark spot, not every things going to be perfect. most of the time i dont just use the mesh tool, in fact, this is the only piece i completely just used gradients, because i wanted to see how it would turn out. but its something that can easily be fixed. "not everything is going to be perfect" isnt really an excuse. if this is supposed to provide an example for potential clients for your vector site, you want to show them something polished. you dont want them to think you just halfass everything and leave shit unfinished. i've known you to be a great artist, and this piece and your attitude towards valid critiques on it certainly makes me question that judgement. btw abby posted on that name because she forgot to login to her own name. and what i think she meant is that you dont mesh well. but you're fairly new at it, so that can be expected. but all the mesh vectors i've seen from you all seem like something out of a poor quality videogame. it isnt subtle enough, and the direction of some parts of the gradients look...off..and it gives the skin this weird texture to it that makes her looked really bruised... and for those of you who didnt see what i was talking about...here.. i also circled the other flaws i noticed. and this is only on first glance:

They are all happy customers except one, because i haven't finished her design yet. -"Not everything is going to be perfect", is true. people aren't perfect, art isn't perfect. The skin may be a little abstract on some of my vectors, so what (hey i like to keep it different)? That doesn't make them look poor quality or not up to standards with the public. -I'm fully aware that I'm new to using the mesh tool. I'm fully aware of what I need to work on more and I don't need people being rude like this and making ugly comparisons to my work. -those "flaws" you pointed out aren't as easy to "fix" as you claim them to be. Especially since i probably don't have the .ai file any more also, thanks. I think you're a great artist too, i love to look at the new illustrations and vectors you come up with |

I don't see where she asks anyone to critique her work. I would love to see what you would say if someone said that about your work. You are a total hypocrite, and what you said was totally unnecessary, immature and rude. And the flaws you circled, well you know what, people in real life even have flaws. Everyone is different, nobody is perfect or has to be perfect, just like not everyone likes to flash there tits around the internet. That slap you circled, that is the top trim of her shirt. That little piece of hair is barely noticable.. She is fairly new at the mesh tool after all, so there may be mistakes so what? You don't need to point them out and be so negative about it especially in public. If would like to help her with her mesh work then why don't you message her privately. That would be the better way to go maturely. I don't think she'll have a problem with any clients, most the comments she has recieved are positive, they seem to love it. I know she doesn't halfass her work, she tries her best and she will get better in time. |

im not being negative. im saying if she already worked hard on the rest of the vector... whats a few minutes correcting the mistakes she obviously already sees for herself? follow through...
and those errors are easy to fix, even if you dont have the AI file. i know you can figure out how. you could have fixed it before you deleted the AI file as well.. i mean they werent hard to see...i didnt think you needed me to tell you... how would you feel if you were a client, and noticed such an error and they just said that "hey not everything is perfect?" as for the clients you already had, who havent complained... well i've come to notice that people are very easy to please. |

I did think some of the things you said were rather nasty in the other post. if an actual client asked me to fix some thing i would see what i could do about it |

Well if there is a cilent with a problem and they aren't happy with a little detail I'm sure Heather wouldn't hesitate to try to fix her little mistake. That is a private matter anyway and shouldn't be brought up in public. But still, it isn't right to insult her work like you did, that is what I'm simply calling negative. "low qaulity video game" :\ |
