Yeah..well a lot of my friends are making Prom such a huge deal. Do your friends do that too? Like you have to get this fancy fancy limo, and eat at a really nice place, have to have a date, etc? I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just curious to see which parts you think are necessary and stuff.

I didnt make a big deal when prom time came around for me hence the reason i didnt go. But my brother, a graduating senior, is planning on going to prom and he was planning on renting a limo, buying his date flowers and taking her out to dinner. He is going to go all out with it as he should because this is his last year of high school

Well, seeing that I'm still in junior high and I don't have any high-schoolers for friends, I wouldn't know.
As a general rule, though, the people around here don't get really excited for it. It's almost just like a fancier dance. People don't care that much as a general rule.

at my school prom is freakin huge. Big fancy dinner, big rediculous dresses that cost 500$ for one nite, big Hummer stretch party limos...Its silly to me. I didnt finish my senior year cuz I went to california, so I missed it. But I hear most people were drunk. I got to go to the prom the year before tho. It wasnt really that fun. Just alot of poeple with okay food. They usually rent out the world aquarium or the infomart...both of which are some of the biggest buildings in dallas. its stupid to me. too much money for one night of foggy memories.

My friend used to live in Canada, and she said when she was graduating from 8th grade, all the girls treated the 8th grade graduation dance like Prom. They bought really expensive dresses, did their hair and nails, etc, and just for 8th grade..haha.

Um.. they make a big deal about dresses and stuff. I don't know anyone who's going to get a limo, though. Of course, I'm not a senior. pinch.gif My senior friends are making a huge deal about it all and where to eat, lol. Hopefully my mom will let me go to my prom next year. :P

Yes most of the people I know. They are dropping down the money for limos and party buses.. it's insane. I'm not making a big deal out of it right now but next year [ senior year ] I will be spending more money on it and what not. After all it's your last year of highschool you gotta make it big! happy.gif
