In your opinion, do you feel that your school has an environment where mutual trust exists between all students of the community?

in my opinion, absolutely. at my school, you can leave your backpack infront of your locker all day and no one will steal anything. tons of people leave things out in the open, even if its a cellphone or an ipod. even when you log onto a computer and forget to log out you can trust people to either not delete your work or save and log out for you.

i could go on but i'm really interested to see what other people have to say. also, state whether you go to a private school or a public school. i go to a private school, so that might be one reason why its easy to trust people.

I go to a public school, and honestly, I don't really trust people in my "hall." This year alone, 23 things have been stolen in my hall. 8th grade (about 90 kids). _dry.gif Backpacks have been stolen, cellphones, iPods, lunches...

hmm..lets see. in the middle of the school day my car was broken into, my stereo and cds were stolen. at a football game my car was broken into..my back pack and shoes were stolen. Mutual trust? I wish. If I turned my back on something for one second it would be gone.

yeah everyone basically trusts each other in my school .. middle school .. if something is EVER stolen it's usually just a joke between a group of friends, ya know ?

like last week or so, i lost my PhD pen .. that i take like everywhere .. [[ to do those pen tricks when i'm bored .. ]] .. and then someone found it in tha hallway and gave it to me .. heh

My school, people always steal things. That's why I put nothing in my locker except books, just in case some of those kids who used to have my locker knows the combination and opens it and tries to steal my stuff. Sigh.

Wow, my school's the best school in our district and it's not even as happy and peaceful as yours.

Once, I accidently left the lock on my athletic locker unlocked and my money was stolen from my backpack and so were my jeans. But the next morning I found my jeans outside in the rain..

And a locker open? Most likely everything stolen or terrorized, unless a decent person sees your locker and closes it for you.

Ipod or cellphone out in the open? STEAL STEAL STEAL.

Yeah, I go to a public school.

In some places, yes. Like before school, I leave my backpack out of the middle of nowhere, and in classrooms when I walk around. We have a pretty good trust in our school. However, there are some of the "problem" people who like to play Hide the Backpack.

And I have a good rep. at my school, so they wouldn't dare take my stuff. People only seem to do that to the "problem" children.

I go to a public school, to clarify your second question.

I know my school doesn't have any trust whatsoever, but the rotc building here that's across from the school has some trust.

I don't know what you would consider my school because it's a dodds school, for military families. I guess it's a public school.

i have to say no to that question. I go to a huge university with 35,000+ students and you cant trust to have your things left out in the open without the fear of it getten stolen. Because my school is also public there are alot of people that are not students that come on campus, some with no good intentions.

i go to a university as well. you definately cant trust leaving your things out in the open. we're situated in a college town and always have ppl coming on campus randomly. its a little "safer" in the dorms to leave things lying around because ppl might know whos stuff it is. for the most part, i dont trust all teh ppl here

My high school isn't private, and well.............I don't trust leaving valuables in my bag out in an area where I won't be in, especially the library corridor. A lot of things especially mobile phones, mp3's electronic stuff and wallets have been stolen.

Someone stole my jumper one morning when I put my bag down with my jumper in it and went in the library for like 5 minutes, I came out and it was gone. Its my last year of high school, infact, I've only got like 1/2 a year to go, I ain't getting myself a new jumper that cost like AUS$45!!!! So I went to lost property, grabbed a jumper that was the closest to fitting me, washed it like 3 times and then decided to wear it..........sux coz its smaller than my old jumper.....coz its like brand new, not worn out or anything.

Well I dont go to a school now.

But when I did, way back in 5th grade, No.

There was no mutual trust between anyone, people would steal things and then use them right infront of your face. Though in 5th grade the worst thing someone could steal was probably a pencil, tehe ^^

Never. At my school, if you leave something lying around it'll get stolen. If you forgot something and you go back to get it, most likely it won't be there anymore. Seriously, people will steal anything...
