hah. well, i've noticed that there wasn't a classical music topic up here, and i just had to post one. i know a lot of you play instruments, and most of you have heard classical music before. so what's your general view of classical music, and who are you favorite composers/pieces.

to answer my own questions,
being a piano and clarinet play myself, i've been living with classical music ever since i was very little. my parents exposed me to classical music as much as they could, and i thank them for it. i love all kinds of music, classical included. it'll always be a large part of my life.
my favorite composers are beethoven, chopin, tchaikovsky, holst, and a lot more.

i agree. classical music is sooo soothing! My mom hates it and it drives her nuts. She thinks I listen to it to annoy her (which i did purposely at first) but then I started to like it.

I used to play the piano but I quit. I like playing classical music on the piano but I mostly play hip hop beats on the Piano. I can listen to the notes and know what key it is on the Piano.

I play the piano and the violin. I listen to classical sometimes. Heh. Some of my favorite composers are probably Beethoven, Bach (though it's hard.), Mozart, & Tchaikovsky(sp?).

I like classical music. I like anything Bach, Mozart or Beethoven. My favorite classical piece would have to be Canon in D by Pachelbel.

just like you, i love all types of music- classical included. i was once a clarinet player myself but i quit after the 7th grade due to some problems with my band instructor. i love classical music, i constantly listen to it while studying- my 8th grade teacher once told me that it's "brain music". ;)

I love classical music. I wish I had more. its just so calming. I love listening to it while I'm driving in heavy traffic that I hate. It keeps me from ramming the person in front of me.

i only listen to it for relaxation...or else it would put me to sleep. My math teacher would always have classical music on in his class, hmm i wonder if that's why i did so well in his class.

I really don't know any composers/pieces.

But there's this radio station that plays all classical music. I love it. I listen to it when I feel upset or when I'm doing my homework.

i think that classical music is very nice, calming, relaxing and beautiful but will you will never see me sitting in my room listening to it on a regular basis. but in 6th grade, we had to do this thing called music memory and we had to memorize composers, musical pieces, and how the pieces sounded. my favorite was always PACHEBEL(sp?): CANON IN D MAJOR.

I love classical music. It's sad that when I say that, people around me cringe. I've never played a really "dignified" instrument, but I did play the drums. I'm trying to move on to the guitar.

ohmy.gif Thank you for making this topic! I love classical music. I love to listen to it when I'm studying. My favorites are Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, but my ultimate favorite has to be Mozart. I mean, gotta love child prodigies, no? Hehe. I used to play the clarinet for three years or so until I discovered the guitar and Guns N Roses. rolleyes.gif My sister's been playing the piano for three years now I believe. I agree with many of you - classical music is so relaxing.
