i was wondering where can i learn FTP and all that stuff because i wanted to try out for getting a sub-domain but unfortuantly im only experienced at xanga and myspace could anyone offer to teach me or gimme a site that would teach me?
plus-----any one willing to give me a sub-domain?? |

go to hiya-host.com and post in there forum a couple times (25 points minimum) they'll give you a sub domain. FTP hosting is pretty simple all you need is the right tools. I use CuteFTP which can be located at:
http://www.globalscape.com/cuteftp/compare...ucixcjkhlhjiw22 you can download either pro or home doesn't matter. you only have a 30 day trial unless you buy the product soo yeah make your time count Ask for your hosts ftp server url and then when you open up CuteFTP you should should be able to put the url in the program so you can drag and drop your files from your computer to the host. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and if I'm confusing sorry I tired. |

i could give you a subdomain. and FTP's built in IE. all you gotta do is open up internet explorer and Type in ftp://sitename.com and it asks you for SN and pass and boom your in

Well the IE FTP is supposedly not as secure. Most people prefer the FTP clients like CuteFTP and SmartFTP.

It's what I use and I think it's pretty easy. Just install and such. :D |

smartftp works just fine and it's free. It's not hard to get the hang of, either.

cuteftp is pretty easy to use, but i prefer smartftp..you can't really learn FTP, there're aren't many things you need to know..just right click the folder you want to upload something in and upload something. =]
