where can i just get the plain code for a layout and you just fill in the blanks for the color and font?

you mean through CSS? this shows you the basic codes that are used for skins. =]

umm..i guess, lol i dont know? all i know is that it goes in "input your own header html" and you can change everything... i dont know what its called

Yes, it's called a CSS, or a Cascading Style Sheet. It just helps you change the colors of fonts, backgrounds, etc.
