REAL REBELLION Conformity: action or behavior In correspondence with socially accepted standards Your parents did it, your sisters did it It’s expected that you get high and hammered But what happened to not fitting in? What happened to being yourself? What happened to not buying into The things the powers to be push onto you Take a look at the people you hate You’re doing the exact same thing. Take a look at the people you hate As they hand you a cigarette Stupid fad following kid That’s what they’ve been saying all along Just another punk who wants to get drunk It’s time to prove them wrong. Say I am to smart to do this I will break this unwritten teenage law I won’t buy in to the standard I will start a real rebellion “Everybody’s doing it” Exactly why I don’t want to Look at the grave stones of the tragically young It can happen to you Fun fun fun! At what cost? Life’s too short. So shorten it further? Rebellion is just another fad. Can a non-conformist conform to non-cormity with out breaking the rules of their non-conformism?

^^ I don't think he's doing this to epitomize the rebellious youth. I think he did it to stir change. This peace mocks pop culture's effect on our society.

^i see what you're saying. but the idea of the songs is about how people try to non-conform by doing the exact same thing as those who they try to contrast. the people who try to be "goth" or "punk" and the people who they call conformists all take part in drug use. if you're going to try to be different from somone, be different than them in more aspects than wardrobe and musical taste. hense the "Take a look at the people you hate. You’re doing the exact same thing."
