QUOTE(MarchHare2UrAlice @ Apr 12 2005, 2:48 PM) you know its perfectly possible that he did and just disagrees. you know. meh i tend to agree with you. this isnt exactly the same thing bu tit REALLY irks me when people do use 'gay' out of context... and also, you seem very pompous. Yes, it bothers me as well when people use the word 'gay' out of context. Pompous- Characterized by excessive self-esteem or exaggerated dignity; pretentious (Really? Wow, hmm, maybe you should take some time to get to know me. Appearance Vs Reality is life-defining theme. Seem would be the keyword there so the statement was one in which didn't offend me. I understand that I can come off that way because of my obvious sarcasm and abrasive attitude in my writing. However, its not the case. [Same goes for you, Tweeak]) |

Eh, I suppose you're right. I probably am a bit too serious which does make me more pretentious when I type. I'll work on the loosening up thing, though. Thanks for the feedback (no sarcasm, I'm serious). |

I agree with it kind of. But metrosexual is something that cannot be un-labled. I mean, metros are sexy, for sure. But how else could we describe a classier guy? The norm is sexy? Idont know. I really don't think being an a-hole is necessary to be metro, but the classiness and gentleman part should be part of the definition.

well i didnt read any post besides the first and i can say this:
the meaning of a word changes with the way society manipulates it. there was a time when emo meant emotional, rather than the nowaday connatation of poser/wannabe. metro may have used to mean just having a nice sense of style or whatnot, but now many of them have become ignorant, self-centered, egotistical jackasses. a transition into metrosexuality would give anyone a big confidence boost, many times more than should be credited. this just creates another annoying a-hole strutting the streets thinking they really are the definition of a calvin klein model. metros are the ones who obsess frantically over their looks, keeping a mirror in their pocket and looking into it every 30 seconds or breaking down into tears due to a slight coffee spill on their pants. men who just dress nice arent necessarily classified as metro, its the attitude that makes the difference. not only do you have to dress well to be metro, you have to KNOW you dress/look well. - gays usually are metro since they tend to be more feminine than heterosexuals and dress to impress. their mindset is just different i guess people just throw the word around for anything outside the norm, which what gays are. so..people label others for a reason: the label is true. of course there will be exceptions, but the label usually fits the majority. |
