Emo to me is someone who wears Weezer style glasses and dresses like they are so cool. Their pictures they have on the internet are where they pose and tilt there head slighty and don't directly look at the camera and make either an intense or serious or slightly sad look and to top it off they use band quotes under it and/or make it black and white. Something like that....

uh. emo definitly isnt saying i'm so emo...its supposed to just be a state of mind and a genre of music, but now its a trend. case in point: look at all the blogrings on xanga.

emo- a misspelling of emu, as in "that emo sure runs fast"
actually, emo stands for emotive rock. and no, it doesn't stand for emotional music, or emotional rock. all music is emotional. |

i remember browsing around createblog one time and some person said that whoever calls themself emo isnt really emo or whatever.. i sorta think thats true. haha :x

"Emo" is just short for Emotion
So really you cant say "Im emo" cause thats like saying "Im emotion" BUT the media has twisted the word into something its not, and so now the definition isnt "emotion" its "depressed" or something along those lines. |

I apologize for affending anyone who claims to be emo but I laugh at all of em. No, I don't mock their sense of style or their choice of music, I mock their actions and their 'non-conformist' attitude toward life.

emo is short for EMOtional. and that exactly descibes the type of music, its emotional. its when the writer writes down when he or she really feels. i personally like emo music, but, i wouldn't call myself emo though.

dashboard always comes to mind.
i have my emo times. it gets me depressed. my definition of emo? listen to dashboard. edit- also pictures of guys&girls with side bangs. they seem to be holding the camera up high, so your looking down at them. clothes are, black pants, white belt, band tee, w/ unprescripted-rectangular-black-rimmed glasses.  have fun with that. |

Emo is a style that people
seem to carry on with and claim they are EMOotional. By just being overly skinny and having hair eat your face and crying all the time and bands that go on about their sad depressing lives and all that crap is what Emo has become to be known as. Its kinna like if you ask whats GOTH? its just people in dark clothing claiming they are goth. |
