This show really disgusts me. All it is is superficial people not happy with how they were born going and getting tons of plastic surgery, boob implants, and chin implants, just to say ohh ohh look at me. Why can't people just be happy with what they are? I mean I guess not everyone is perfect but this show takes it too far. mad.gif

That show is terrible. I mean, and it's such a bad example...it's superficial. I totally agree becaue while I was watching it, it was so disgusting how people wanted to change their looks just to look like their favorite celebrity. It's so stupid because they are giving more praise to the celebrities who already make so much money. Why give them more praise is what I say...ok, I'm done now biggrin.gif

If we were in a country where it was strict and that celebirties ruled, those people would be put to death. There was a time in China (I think..) that this guy's hair got shaved off just because it was the same hairstyle as the leader.. _unsure.gif

Eh, I agree with you, Sarah. I love how they have so much money to do this. Why not give that money to something that's worth it - a charity or something. Go help out your community instead of wanting to look like a celebrity because you're shallow.

Most of MTV shows make me sick because they are dumb. What makes me even sicker is that people watch them. I only enjoy Viva la Bam heh good show. But yeah, I'm superficial with my own body, why can't people be happy the way they are? Looking like some famous star wont make them better because they wont be that start...

i never watched the show, but i have seen commercials of it. and it did digust me, because people actually want to make themselves look like a famous person, and then there are people who film it and make it a tv show. i have to admit though, i am not exactly happy with my features, but i accept them. i wouldn't go off and pay lots of money to change it or to make myself look like somebody else.

I don't think its right but if the person who is actually having it done likes it, then I guess it should be okay.

well "the Swan" is basically like extreme make over, they take 2 people and give them extreme plastic surgery all over, and dont let the patient see themselves in a mirror for 3 months, them at the end of that they reveal the 2 patients to everybody and they get to see themselves in the mirror for the first time in front of national televison, and their reactions are somtimes wierd. well at the end out of the 2 judges choose 1 of them to compete in a beatuy Pageant , as like when they get enough fake plastic people they make a Pageant of fake plastice patients and see who is the prettiest... yep sounds like a waste of time...

These shows are ridiculous. They say that they make these shows to make people feel better about themselves when the reality is that the only reason they accept these people onto the shows is because they are so ugly that it would make a good show. This makes the people become reassured that they do need plastic surgery to be accepted. Then you have shows like The Swan that kick off one of the two girls each week. Great. Now they still think they aren't pretty enough.

the show is simply a reflection of the degeneration of society and the brainwashing of those that are slaves to the media. sad reality that spans all cultures.

women feel insufficient, men feel the same. in fact people are subjected to so much media that you have women of all ages subjecting themselves to starvation in order to meet the hollywood standards of beauty.

to alter your anatomy in such a drastic manner, taking risks with your life, body, and spirit. denotes someone that should seek medical attention of the psychological sort.

shows like this make me want to take these people and perform an intervention. (i.e. getting a van, kidnapping them, duct taping them to a chair, and indoctrinating them against the ills of plastic surgery)

but the deal with 'i want a famous face' is these people are going to get it. they decided they wanted to get the plastic surgery before MTV even asked. then when MTV finds people who are getting the work done they ask the person if they can document their journey and offer to help pay for it.

so these people were going to get it regardless of the show, unlike the swan

i mean the whole show as in "i want a famous face" and "the swan" have somewhat taken reality to a certain point...but they shouldn't be airing this kind of show because it encourages people to do things about their body if they don't like it...somewhat shows are over rated...
