Horizontal Scrollbar, Removing It |

Hi! To begin with, my Xanga is located at http://www.xanga.com/crzychinesegrl/ . When you visit it, you'll notice that there's a horizontal scrollbar on the bottom, which is obviously not supposed to be there. I was wondering if someone could tell me what's wrong with my code because there's a horizontal scrollbar that shouldn't be there. I've figured out that the excess code that Xanga sticks on at the end of every page is the thing that's causing the problem, but I don't know how to deactive that piece of code. You can check the source code to clarify it.
Just for your reference, my page width is set to 100%. I also know that I could go the easy way out and just stick a STYLE="OVERFLOW-X: HIDDEN" in my < BODY > tag, but extraneous pages, such as comments and eprops are still disfigured, as in the text flows off the page, and I personally find that more annoying that having an additional horizontal scrollbar. And, I'd like to keep the page width set to 100%. I hope you guys understood that huge paragraph. I look forward to quick replies! |

hrmm..try making the page width to pixels..&just experiment with the numbers

aZNbLUMUNKEEbUTT, I'd rather not set the page width to a definite pixel width, because I want to keep my page plastic for readers of all resolutions. I admit, if I just set it to a certain pixel width, my problem would be solved, because absolute table widths work. But I never did say I was the one to take the easy way out ...
azn.peace.maker, yes, I have tried that piece of code. I even mentioned doing so in the first post; you just needed to read it more carefully, though I admit the post is very dense and wordy. I also gave reasons for why I did not continue to use it. |

STYLE="OVERFLOW-X: HIDDEN" and u said that u put it in your < BODY > tag... next time just give out the whole code with all the words in it.. like this <body style="overflow-x: hidden"> ok?? and if that code doesnt work your gonna have to do what aZNbLUMUNKEEbUTT told u to do.. or set the width at a number that wont show a scroll bar so just play around with it..

I've figured out which part of that excess Xanga code I need to deactivate:
<script language="javascript">clafsettp(document.all.ya6795, '100%')</script> The underlined part is variable, meaning that it changes everytime someone reloads the page. Does anyone know how I can deactive that piece of code? Thanks! |

Try putting it in your <BODY> tag instead, like this:

hmmm. even though i tried it it seems not to go away..i changed the width of my weblogs but that only got smaller and the scrollbar isn't going away.....
take a look at it, and you'll see that the width is small but the scrollbar isn't going away

umm try making the width bigger then.. just play around with it. dont give up until u get what u want.. it should work cuz that how i got mine to get removed

^makind it bigger? is that how you removed it...do i also add the code for it? <BODY STYLE="OVERFLOW-X: HIDDEN"> ok i think its the "new weblog entry, xtools, etc thats keeping it from removing the scrollbar...it there any way to shrink that?
