It's how i was raised. My parents and grandparents raised me to respect my country, and to express my opinion bluntly to others. To see someone burning a flag pushes my buttons more than anything. I dont hate any of you, nor do i want to be hated/disliked, however, i dont appreciate being disliked for being an opinionated person. Ok i've said all i'm gonna say, see you around

yes, but what you dont seem to realize is that when you express your opinions bluntly, you often get tehnm expressed back at you.
just b/c your rents and grents feel a certain way, doesnt mean you cant open yourself to others |

Ok i've said all i'm gonna say, see you around ok, so youre just going to regurgitate whatever opinions they feed you? thats not very mature. higher thought processes involved not only listening to what others to say, but then understanding, absorbing, and lastly and most improtantly making your own decisions as to whether you agree or not. because opinionatedness is not limited to you, but its better for people who have some sort of knowledge as to whats going on around them |

I think its a matte rof a opinion. Before Sept. 11th I loved my country, because i was young and naive.
After Sept 11th I made a complete different opinion on America, because I was educated on how f*cked up it is. And you guys should just stop trying with the Zeplin guy, if thats all hes lived around and if that is what he was told leave him alone. He's obviously not gonna change his mind. |

I think people are still patriotic to their country, but they aren't as much until a disaster occurs. When it's quiet and not much danger, then people don't show their patriotism, because they have to scream it out loud for. I mean people still wear clothes with the american flag on it, and still fly the american flag.

lilangelgurlpnai...i agree completely. That's why my family is not all "hoo ha" America...let's put out a million flags on our yard, car, and buy bumper stickers to show how patriotic we are. oh, please. I find it funny that americans feel comforted and safe after a tragedy by raising the flag, even though it won't help anything. If you love your country so much, why must you express it in that way...excessively!? Especially after 9/11...why weren't people like that before?

WWII was mentioned on the other page. I am currently learning about that in my history class. The U.S. might be a powerful country, yes, but it's nowhere near the best. Sigh. So many people are brainwashed by their elders. How sad. Its okay for me, because my parents wish they were in Israel right now.

Who is the best then? with expenditures of $2.156 trillion there is very little other competition, oh and with 11 co-supportive cardinals, they also sway the papal elections as well.
