In a way, it's good b/c he doesnt have to suffer anymore. He definitely touched the lives of countless people out there and that is amazing. May he be in peace. It's a sad sad day.

and yes, he is Polish.

I wonder who the next Pope will be.
*

Well, according to the Holy See Press Office, the candidates for College of Cardinals to choose for Pope are, Cardinal Francis Arinze (Nigeria), Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi (Italy), Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Germany), Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga (Honduras), Cardinal Cristopher Schoennborn (Czech Republic), and Cardinal Claudio Hummes (Brazil). It is possible that the College of Cardinals would vote fore Italians or Third-World country Cardinal. _smile.gif

I'm glad he wasn't forced to go to the hospital or anything, that he could die in peace at the Vatican. At the hospital, they would simply prolong his pain.

I'm not a heavily religious person, but I cried still. It feels as if a piece of me died along with him...he was a huge part of my family's life.
