it's possible to love, it's just not the same kind of love that adults have. people mature over time, etc. it's teenage love.

well, i guess they could...some of them. If they're feeling something stronger than lust/infatuation. But most of the kids i knew in intermediate, they would go out with a person and then 'kapoot', it's over.
![]() Although, teenagers can love, either it be for their family or that special someone. Anyone can love at any age, it's no one's business to say that they can't. When they become older, their love capacity will grow because they'll be more experienced and mature. They still can love tho. |

Oh yes, good point. I hate it when people say 'I love you' when they've only been dating for a week. My friend said that on her first date and I'm like wtf isn't that waaay too soon *rolleyes*

i personally think that like is stronger than love. after all, it's easier to fall out of love.

I think most people learn to love as they go, can't blame somebody for being stupid "back then" really.

i think teenagers can definitely fall in love.. been there done that. my mom and my "friends" didnt think i was in love.. but when you would be happy to DIE for someone you are "in love" with.. then yeah.. i think you're in love..

I dont know..
I hear 'OMG Im in love.' so much that I hardly belive it anymore. I think its possible, I mean you see people who started dating sense the 8th grade and got married and are really happy.. But *shrug* I think most teenagers confense themselves they're in love and just go along with it.. |

I believe teenagers are capable of love. I know that we are talking about Romantic love, but think of all the different aspects of love... Teens have love from their parents, and give love to their parents. They have friends who "love them" and also give that love back to their friends. So if they have love in all these difference aspects of their life I for one believe that Teens are much capable of a romantic type of love.

i never really went out with anyone. my friends all had at least one bf. but me? no after watching all of my friends jr. high and high school relationships dont last. they just hurt people. its not right. i think you should only date someone if your ready for a real commitment. lately ive been noticeing that the words "i love you" are used too loosely. i never said i love you to a guy. it may sound really ignorant. but it comes and goes.

i basically think it's impossible for people to be in love at this age. but i guess people say "i love you" because it sounds better than "i like you".

its not just teens, adults think that they are in love but they really arent. its just lust. i dont think anyone could really handle love that well because love itself is hard to handle

It took me almost 4 months to say "I love you" and mean it in that sense. I believe saying those hallowed words in vain i.e. after a week or two, is just stupid.

QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Mar 26 2005, 1:55 AM) of course, those of you who have gf/bf probably say yes... however; think a second... it it really love? can teenagers who don't really know what love is, feel love? would you die if your bf/gf died? like in romeo and juliet, an 'example' of teenaged love? and also, is it ok to say 'i love you' if all you really feel is like, lust, infatuation, or fondness? lolss.. anything is really possible if you think about it. but most of the times it's just a deep crush that we eventually do get over. most people don't mean it when they say 'i love you' =T and yeah, of course they can feel love. everyone does. i wouldn't die because my bf/gf died (even though i don't have one currently) i would be mourning.. but they aren't worth my life.. my life is so much more(praising the Lord ;D and trying to find my way out to Heaven, my real, permanent home[hopefully]) it is ok to say 'i love you' if you dont really feel it i guess, because a lot of ppl do that. ![]() but from now on, i made a promise to myself that i won't go out with someone unless i really really<3them |

yes teens are capable of love, and yes most of the time people confuse it with lust and etc. not everyone would say they love their boyfriend if they were honest. if you asked me 4 yrs ago did i love my boyfriend, i would say no. i would say i like him. alot of people use the word love easily, but i don't. i could never say i love you until a year and 3 mths. i first met my boyfriend at 14 and we're still together and living together (im almost 19). yea, we did break up twice over issues within the relationship. but while were apart, we couldnt help missing each other and wanting us to be together. just because you break up with someone does not mean you love them in some cases. anyways teenagers can definitely feel love, thing is how do you know if it rlly is? you'll know when your in love. your in love when you see him/her as perfect despite their imperfections. when you need and want them in your life every waking moment, when you can commit to only them in every way; as in no looking at others, flirting, etc. you'll know when you don't even have to think twice when you ask yourself, when you feel it and know it.
i am a highschool sweetheart, i can't say we will be together forever. no one can say, only God knows. but i do know i am in love, i know i could never feel this way exactly for another, if it ever happens it will never be more, maybe close but never more. i belive you can have two lovers but it won't be the same, not like your true love. true lovers don't always get to be together though, life is complicated. |

Of course teenagers are capable of real love, they just usually don't and get confused (thinking that lust, puppy 'love', ect. is actual, true love). My parents got married at 18 and 19 (respective ages), and they were very much in love. and still are 27 years later.

Oh yes. Absolutely. Being a teen myself, I DO think we are capable of falling in love. But sometimes, I believe it's just pure LUST. It would be great if most teens were able to differentiate what is actually love and what is just lust. Most of the time, we (teens) tend to mix those two up and fancy ourselves as being in love.
As of a year ago when I first began to persue writing there were emotions that I could not put into words. One of them was loss.( But that's not the subject here, so we'll leave that for the time being.) The other emotion I had problems with was love. If you have never felt it how can you even begin to describe it? Eight months ago I realized that I myself was in love. It is one of the most abstract emotions in the world. So even if a thousand different people were to post on this you may never come across your own definition. Do you see what I am getting at? Every one has and is entitled to their own idea of love. For some it may just be a knowledge that came of its own. For others it is an uncontrolable urge to be with the person of their affection. |

Well,
Teens are capable pf being in love.Reason being there`s no age set for anyone to fall in love.Or Realize you really like that person. But Someone who barely know`s anything about you tells you they love then your dealing with Mature love an just love meaning Love = I need you cause I love you Mature Love = I love you because I need you. But despite that Teens are capable of falling in love letting someone become everything to them. |
