[COLOR=red] Hello i would like to say have you ever thought that religion is about narrowing people down!

you see you get the leaders of the religion and they control all the other people below them, coz you knw lots of people with differing appinions is dangerous and you would never get anything done. This is wat polotics is doing today!

so you are all pigion holed into different religions there are less people to take into consideration when running a country exctra and so the leaders of the religions and priministers of the countrys hold all the power over the people who are pigion holed!

its quite simple once you get your head around it!

its a conspiricy- in the old days the priests used to change the rules of the religions to get money and people to come to church more often!

thank you for your time

Rach

Why would Hell be an absence of God when God is everywhere?  huh.gif

and I found this somewhere on the net:

premise: God is the Author of everything.

premise:  Evil is something.

conclusion: Therefore, God is the Author of evil.

well of course god is the creator of everything. but god is not "everywhere" he is not in hell. satan is in hell.

the premise is that, rather than hell being a place, its a state of being, as is heaven

if you bring god into your slef, which only you can do (he wont force himself on you), then you have a loving, paternal relationship, which continues after death.

conversly, people swho dont do this, cannot become part fo the metaphorical kingdom, therefore sort of drift outside, in 'hell'

o rthatss the belief of many christians anyway

who said r.e. would never pay off

This is quite confusing. Is it Christian to think of Heaven as a state of being rather than a place? The Book of Revelation speaks of Hell as a place with a Lake of Fire where humans are punished.
Revelation 20:10 says: “the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet also were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

Sulfur in a state of being?

Matthew 10:28 says “Fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” If your body can be destroyed in a state of being... I really don't know what to make of this state, which is supposed to be purely mental. You are to die before going to Heaven and Hell, yet, how can your body be further destroyed if you're already dead? Does this mean our bodies are reunited with our souls in Hell/Heaven?

And in Matthew 12:40 :"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly: so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH. "

I don't get it... clearly the heart of the earth denotes a place.

Angel... if you're still around and you're reading this... help me out here... i need to clear this up.

God is omnipresent, meaning He is ever-present, everywhere. If He is not, then He is not the Almighty. Study Psalm 139, please.

I may not be Christian, but I'm not completely clueless, far from it.

^^

that is the traditional view, but many christians (including our school chaplain) have taken it as metaphorical, rather than a literal interpretation.

How does one translate the "Heart of the Earth" metaphorically into a state of being? huh.gif

I've never thought of it that way but it seems true! LOL! I mean Christins and other religions ban so many things that are awsome.. or find them satanic..

Whatever, this board kicks major ass! Cheers to the guy who made it..

o_o' I know I didnt read all of this cause I have to go soon..But I'll just say my peice.

I used to not beleive inhell...because I thought it was just the Christians way of making people afriad so they'd follow their rules. But recently I've been studying it..an I'm not so sure. Hell 'doesnt' exist, as a few have said. It's a turn for when you die..on judgement day..you'll get burned into non existance. o.o'

Wanted to say that..People should try not to get offended so much. I mean, yes..some of the views may put down your religion or whatever..But really..o_O...What does that matter personally to you? It's the other person's choice to what they think..and sure, you can try to point out your own beliefs..But..try not to be offended. Judge not, yest ye be judged. o_o;
