Why do people, spell things weirdly?

I am just wondering, not meaning to insult people. im just curious, because I'm totally guilty of it. But why do people spell

girl-gurl?
because-becuz?
you-yew?
boys-boiz?
the-tha?
laters(lol)-l8terz

etc.

just wondering, since most of the time it takes most of the time to write it the other way.. tongue.gif lol biggrin.gif Any ideas? lol

lol im totally used doing it. but sometimes i catch myself. it makes me crazy when people type all weirdly all the time and it takes like 5 minutes to read their posts _dry.gif

some is just...shorthand. to type htings faster. but with things like gurl and girl..I think it's just because they like the way it looks

Um, I don't know. Maybe they think it's faster that way? However, it takes me a long time to try to type like that. I guess people get used to it.

LoL, I remember when I used to type like that... I think I did because I thought it looked cool & everyone else I knew was typing like that too. Now I think it looks stupid, and I flinch whenever I read some of my past xanga entries with weird spellings... haha.

some of it is just because is shorter to type...and i guess internet talking...makes them sound cool...i do it because its just a new way of typing things...keeps things fresh and not boringg biggrin.gif

Um, yeah that part i understand but what about gurrl-girl and and stuff like that. it just kinda makes it harder to read. of course stuff like k for ok, thats quicker to type.

I'll admit it, I used to type like that. It becomes a habit, I guess. But it does annoy me when people type like that.
