prom is coming up and i've been asked to prom by a friend of mine. i accepted but she wasn't the one i wanted to go with because i have someone i really like. i'm someone who can't say no for my life so that's why i said yes- anyways, the girl that i like rejected a few people (which were like the school pervs) and she was afraid that she was going to be dateless so i asked one of my friends to ask her to prom because i wanted her to have a date and a good time y'know. call me selfish if you want but if i could have it my way- i'd much rather see her go alone than with one of my friends because i dont think i could really take seeing her dancing with one of my friends but i dont wanna ruin her first prom night and i dont wanna hurt my friend's feelings because he's someone who isn't really a "popular guy" in our school but he's probably the best choice out of everyone left... i trust him with my life but this whole ordeal is killing me inside- any advice? did i do the right thing?

It's okay as long as you feel its okay but you should tell your friend who you really want to go with but if she gets offended or upset just tell her that your gonna go with her to make her happy. I can't really say anymore but, maybe another choice is to make the guy who's going with the girl you like go with your friend and then your friend would be happy and so would you but make sure its okay with the girl your going with currently before you do this.

you're a real friend
 it's nice that you want to save people from being hurt...even thought it hurts you...it takes a real man (or woman...i've done this kind of stuff too...) to be able to be strong like this. you'll be rewared by karma

Thats good though...you did the right thing, however it might not be the best for you...it helped others...and thats something one day the girl you like might see as something really great. So good Job...in the end its all going to add up.

i think you did the right thing... it made her happy- at least she has a date, and probably a nice one too
but maybe next time you should ask the girl instead of going with the other girl. maybe you could dance with your crush a little at the dance. it's better then nothing. and just because she's dancing with your friend, doesn't mean they like each other. they're just together for the prom

=) Yes you did the right thing. You made her happy; and made your friend happy; and also made your date happy. Its only 1 night; and yu sacraficed your happiness for others. And that`s great. But you dont have to be miserable; ask her to save you a dance. =)

your a good friend but i think u did urself wrong. I mean if u really wanted her u should have asked her to the prom before anyone else got a chance. shy? i think not it was worth a chance. and now if she says yes to ur friend its too late!
What you should do now is try to "clean" everything up. Tell her your feeling and why ur going w. this other grl other then her n that u wanted to go w. her. n if she thinks ur wierd after that? she prob wasnt worth it in the first place anyway. hmm...sweet. people usually get a date, but hang out as a group...i mean that's what i would do...so you can dance with everyone and have fun without anyone being like WTF! and freaking out...but yeah..
