Why do people date? For one, it's to have fun with people...feel all special and whatnot...accepted. The bigger reason is to try to find your true love, or someone you want to spend the rest of your life with.

We want to be accepted, understood, have a companion to share emotions and physical attractions, be acknowledge by the opposite, and I think because emotional release to a close person besides a family member~

people "date", as in going to a restaurant, because they want to get to know the person more..
talk on the phone..chat online...are ways to get to know people...but to actually be up in close, only two people, doing whatever is comfortable...having a nice conversation..is why people date..i say.. or when couples date is when they want to take a break from the real world and just be together for how much time they have.. i wish my man and i could date...sadly...we`re both young..haha..

For me, I date because I just want someone there to have and to hold, to be mines, and to make me feel special. I've only dated 2 other ppl besides Tony (my bf for 1 yr 4+ months) and well, they were more of.. PUPPY love sort of dating lol. Well anyhow, people date because they are attracted to one of the opposite sex (or of the same, which ever way one swings) and they just well... jus wants someone there for them. For me, I wanted someone to love, someone to hold, and someone in which I can prove my love to. Love is a powerful word, so don't say it unles syou're for sure that person is who you want to spend your life with and that you will try your hardest to be with. I can't say that dating is exactly fun when well. I've only been on a few dates w/ my bf right now (I think um.. 5? lol less than 10, for sure!) and well it can be fun depending on who the guy is and what you guys do =P Plus, for girls, if you get scared, you can have a guy to hold onto

i dont date right now (im single heheh...
 ) cause i justed needed a break from it all i guess. i ono... it just messed up my whole perspective on life because i got really confused and just agitated and hurt...  but that doesnt change my view on dating...the rason why people date: (or my opinion anyways) people want to be cared for. everyone has to realize it one way or another, but everyone wants love, no matter how much they deny so. By dating, you share a common love with the opposite gender( also because of opposite gender attraction) and it is comforting to have the same common love being shared which causes a bondage like no other. this bond is helpful for the soul because it helps us go through difficult times when we need support by the other mate. also, it helps up enjoy life because we can share happiness together and share joy together as well. although this seems like a load of bs, most of it is true for many people. so there.

when you know yourself and you're ready to offer what you are to another person. dating someone is a committment between someone that you are attracted to whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally.dating is a great experience and it teaches you a lot about life and you often end up learning more about yourself as well. it's a healthy part of growing up and maturing.

i thinke everyones right on why people date the opposite sex. acceptance..love..all that stuff
and as for the same sex...i think that sometimes your friends with a person so much, that you want to show how you feel and appreciate them (actually that could go for dating the opposiet sex as well  )
