Okay, so this movie got a lot of crap said about it, about how it sucked. Personally, I loved it! Like the director, M. Night ______(not trying to spell out his name), in the special features of the DVD, he says that it's not supposed to be a monster movie, it's a romance.

So with that said, anyone like this movie?

I'm not afraid of any of you, I thought The Village was a well made movie. I agree with you Gorey_Podie. If you thought it was bad, then you're entitled to your own opinion, but to think that it was the worst of last year is just very ignorant. Especially when The Grudge was also released last year .... *shivers*

I never watched The Village, and didn't M. Night Shamalan (sp?) direct the 6th sense? or something...

anywho, the grudge was okay (this has nothing to do with anything) but it's not like one of those movies that would scare you for like, a month.

no sorry hated it. i mean i watched it in theatres and i was scared and stuff like the intense building.. it was so EXCITING! but then when you find out the truth about the monsters (Dont want to ruin it for anyone) it just ruins the whole movie. like i love the story, but the movie no.

its like one of those stories you tell around a campfire and it'll be a legendary story for decades and decades, but the movie idea wasnt that great.

and i loved the twist

i hate the twist because the monsters weren't ____. (dont wanna ruin it)
but i like the other twist of how its in the present time and not in the past which i anticipated it to be.

Ok, I thought that the Village was really good. Everyone thought it was supposed to be a horror movie, and that's why they said it sucked. It is more of a romance, with a twist. lol. But there was one line in that movie that i loved...

QUOTE
Ivy Walker: When we are married, will you dance with me? I find dancing very agreeable. Why can you not say what is in your head?
Lucius Hunt: Why can you not stop saying what is in yours? Why must you lead, when I want to lead? If I want to dance I will ask you to dance. If I want to speak I will open my mouth and speak. Everyone is forever plaguing me to speak further. Why? What good is it to tell you you are in my every thought from the time I wake? What good can come from my saying that I sometimes cannot think clearly or do my work properly? What gain can rise of my telling you the only time I feel fear as others do is when I think of you in harm? That is why I am on this porch, Ivy Walker. I fear for your safety before all others. And yes, I will dance with you on our wedding night.

man, after that line in the movie i was ready to bawl, lol and i think Joaquin Phoenix is an awesome actor

I thought it was wonderfully played out. Nothing could have been better. Except for maybe a little more about Adrien Brody's character. Joaquin was hot in that movie.

It was a weird movie.
It looked really, really good, but when I rented it....ehh. It was boring and not what I expected.
