Well I'm finished with high school but my senior year I was taking AP Advanced Differential Equations, which is two levels higher than Calculus BC AP.

it's not required for our school.. I could've taken geometry then moved straight into Pre-cal for the beginning of my sophmore year, but it's a highly recommended class that they automatically sign you up for after CP algebra II. I kind of regret taking it, though. But at least I'll be sharp on my algebra skills!

We refer to it as Algebra 8 Honors, but it's basically Algebra 1.
I can't wait for Geometry next year.
No, really....I can't.

Yes, I'm aware the topic subtitle says grades 6-12, but I want to participate in this topic, too. I'm in my third year of college and taking Probabilities and Stastistics (for business majors). Math scares me.

I, too, will be done with Calculus this year (my junior year). Although, I'm only taking AP Calculus AB. There's a second year Calculus.. Calculus BC. Yea take that wink.gif Eugh... pinch.gif I really don't want to take it but bleh. Wish me luck on the AP test! lol

There's such a thing as college algebra? Is that even needed? I loved Algebra 2. I wish there was an AP algebra or something ahha although I doubt it.

haha AP Statistics here is the math class for slackers. such an easy course; most could probably self-study it. if your school doesn't offer anything higher than AP Calc BC, you would probably commute to a college for Multivariable Calculus. that's what i would've been doing if i didn't get so attached to my humanities electives.

That's really good; you'll need good Algebra skills for Calculus. And pray that you get a good Precalculus teacher because you might have a hard time understanding Calculus if you're not taught Precalculus well. At least that's what happened to me.

mine too, if in fact we even have an algebra 3

im a sophmore in algebra 2. i loathe it. im so bad at it. i cant do math, so of course i cant wait until pre-cal next year rolleyes.gif

and yeah, algebra 2 is the highest you can take at my school sophmore year (unless you're one of the three people who are ahead).

8th grade= alg 1/pre-algebra or something
9th grade= geometry/algebra
10th grade= algebra 2/geometry
11th grade= pre-cal/ap stats or calc?/algebra 2/advanced algebra and trig?
12th grade= stats/calculus/err something

i dont exactly know what you can take the next 2 years, but nevermind that

after bc calc, my school offers...

linear algebra
differential equations (diffEQ, how cute.)
multivariable calculus
numerical analysis?

and you must have completed bc calc to take those.
