I have a friend who is Mormon and she is not part of a cult and the last thing she is going to do is have sex with 1767832 different people.

Not all Christians are forceful but I know 2 at my school who are. He is very conservative and tried to puch his religions onto myy friend one time because we're Jewish and don't believe in Jesus. I don't know excatly what happened because I wasn't there, but from my friend's story, he kept saying how she should believe that Jesus is the Messiah, etc. But I don't hate Christians. I woouldn't be mean to somene because of their religion..

derrington, virtually every religion believes that its worship is the only true worship in the world. otherwise, it would hardly be a religion.

haha. and that would be the basis on my 'crusade agains established religion'

and buddhism believes all other religions are fundamentally correct too.

But just so there's a point to this thread: How many of you actually know Christians that show their beliefs through their actions and words rather than just the line, "I'm a Christian"?

Because to be honest, I know none.
*

i do.

For one, my friend Sarah. She's incredibly nice to everyone and she's always helping people. She's one of the few people who don't do volunteer work for community service hours, but because she really cares and wants to make a difference. Everytime you see her, whether you be happy, sad, angry, whatever.. you always end up cheerful.

there are actually a whole lot more, and i hope i'm one of them.

I agree that that one girl that came into your chat was a brainless idiot, but dont direct her stupidity to Christianity. I, for one, never try to push Christianity on other people, unless they're interested. i'm also sick and tired of people condemning Christians to be hypocrites and saying "I hate Christians". That's the same thing as saying "I hate Buddhists", "I hate Jews". If someone said something like that, he/she'd get blamed for being "prejudiced"... which is exactly what you're doing. and if you don't know any christians that actually do good and truly act like a Christian, then i'm sorry... you haven't met the right people.

hahaha mine too.

anyways, I'm agnostic.
I go to friday night fellowships at the local church. but not because I believe in Christ. I think the stories in the Bible have meaning in them. I want to become a true believer of Christ, but I see no proof. As for now, I'm just going to listen in until I find faith.

I know like 1 real christian. He' really nice and gets along with everyone, and if someone said, "oh, I hate christians!" he won't start yelling at them and telling them they're stupid, but he'll try and reason with them, and tell them why he thinks they're wrong.

It is not a branch of Christianity. The leaders did not even want it considered that until more recent years. Look into their beliefs. They are radically different from the beliefs of any other Christian branch. They are not Christians.
*

just because their beliefs don't sound as if it is a part of it, doesn't mean that it isn't. it is a part of christianity. the beliefs don't have to be exactly the same. what, so now you're going to tell me that cotholicism is not a part of christianity?

edit
QUOTE
Imagine something with me for a moment. Imagine that you were blind your entire life. Let's say you went to a certain doctor, and he administered a brand new drug giving you sight.  Can you imagine what it would be like to suddenly be able to see? Can you imagine taking in all the shapes and colors for the first time? Suddenly, everything would take on a new meaning.
Imagine that that happened to you. Would you be quiet about it, and never tell anyone? Or would you go to your old friends, others who were blind like you once were, and hope that they would also go take this miracle drug to gain vision also?
That is why Christians aren't quiet about their faith.

so what you're basically saying or implying is that Christians are the only ones who have the right to not be quiet about spreading their religion? no one else from another religion can experience the wonderous feeling of being able to see because if someone converts to another religion other can christianity, they don't have the same experience? i haven't seen any other person from another religion who, if you say no to, they stop bothering you about attempting to convert you.

actually Mormans are a part of Christianity. I happen to have many Morman friends. They are NOT part of a cult. They tend to have big families, that does not mean they have a zillion wives. You my friend, are part of the reason why many people hate Christians. You make generalizations waaaay to easily.

I totally agree with you. Even though i am not a Christian or a member of any other religion, I don't think that saying "I hate (most) Christians." gives anyone the right to bash a religion. That is prejudice and like [X]poised had nicely put, you haven't met the right people. You can't base your view on just a handful of people you know and decide a zillion times more people are bad. Hate is a strong word. Ultimately, it's your decision and i hope you will go out and socialize more and get to know more Christians who are not a hyprocrite.

[16:21:40 PM] antanAZAREL: Hon, I'm not ugly.
[16:21:46 PM] antanAZAREL: Nowhere near it.

I don't think you should call yourself good looking. Thinking whether you're pretty or ugly is a matter of opinion, and the way you put it, you made it seem as if you are good looking. Okay, so the other person called you ugly. In her opinion, you might not be good looking, but that doesn't mean that you have to make it seem like if you are pretty because in my opinion, you're not all that pretty.

[16:13:23 PM] --- --- ---: Lets hope you're not most of them.
[16:13:23 PM] antanAZAREL: Wow, you must be stupid too.
[16:13:26 PM] --- --- ---: Haha.

You guys are the ones that started the arguement, which is pretty sad, actually.

And a Christian is someone that believes in Christ, nothing more, nothing less. You don't have to be faithful in order to be Christian.

Most Christians may be stupid, but that doesn't mean that you have to go around critizing them.

I think Christians you who try to push their religion on others arent helping, just hurting. and I could see why you are hating/annoyed with these people. I WOULD BE TO!! Many Christians are hipocrites, They say they believe in god and then walk around in skantily dressed clothing, ohhhhh yes thats REAL christian of you.
(No offense to any christians who arent pushy.)

Gmail is .. email provided by Google. o_0.

Anyway, my best friend is Christian. I'm Christian. My other two best friends aren't Christian. Those two best friends are my best friend's best friends. Isn't that enough to tell you that the "Christian" you were talking to may have set the wrong impression of Christianity to you so that you now think that all Christians are like that?

The world of Christianity is becoming corrupt, maybe. But it doesn't mean that there aren't ANY true Christians, and that Christianity is made up.

no one said christianity was made up, if you mean it as in not a real belief.
