I've got a feeling that hell kicks major ass. Considering that Christians tend to ban just about everything cool, Heaven must be really quite dull. now Hell, hell has Rock music, sex, drugs, and violent video games. There is no Grand Theft Auto, there is no Red Hot Chili Peppers, there is no porn in heaven. Heres an example of what an ordinary day in hell i imagine would be. I wake up in my apartment, dress in designer clothes(designed by gay men, since they don't get to go to heaven) do a line of coke, and leave to go clubbing with stalin. After that i can go play violent video games or drink alcohol, etc. in fact, heaven sounds like one big red state in the sky; lots of white people, intolerance, and boring entertainment. now people say, "you burn in hell!" but who says thats true? god? maybe god is lying. if god is all powerful, why can't he lie? just some weird ideas.

I agree with you total and being bounced around from sect to sect of Christianity as a kid, I've come to my own ill-feelings about the religion in general.

As far as hell being "cool," that sounds like a statement that can only come as a result of pure ignorance. Maybe you were joking, but you really must watch yourself in a discussion like this.

My take:
Many Christians take the religion so far out of context that they're living their lives as total hypocrites. Living a life of hypocracy is exactly what you can do to not get into heaven. The the argument over the petty things in life comes into play (i.e- porn, violent video games, movies, choice of music, sexual preference, premaritals, etc). If you're a good person and you live your life as a selfless human being while standing firm as to your beliefs of 'right and wrong,' it shouldn't matter what religion you are. There is a reward for everyone.

So in the eyes of some, I'm a somewhat religious guy because I do pray from time to time and I have a basic belief of Jesus, his life and his death. However, in the eyes of most Christians, I'm a 'lost child' because refuse to buy into, what I believe to be, bullshit.

It doesn't matter if he is just kidding. He is bashing a religion and that's not right whether he doesn't mean it or not. Thank you Professor Obvious. Seriously though, I agree with you and much of this religion bashing is done by Christians (unless you live in Israel).

As for your sig, specifically about the minority quote, I chose not to answer what ethnicity I was on any standardized test, college app or scholarship app because the only race is the human race.

let's get this started:

This is an example of bashing a religion.

However, religon bashing happens quite often in reverse. The christians bash others.

some christian fanatics lump all other religions together as 'devil worship'.
sunday schools teach kids about other religons, and how bad they are.

the mock rituals as 'idol worship' and they mock thier gods as 'the devil' or 'false gods'.

however; this does differ from the original post.

the original post bashed christianity using christianity's own beliefs.
however; if you would notice the inconsitencies with christian beliefs, you will notice that this is just a strongly worded opinion.

However, this does stem from good logic and christian ideas.

Islam, for instance, provides a very nice description of what heaven is like. 77 virgins if you die in jihad, etc. there are levels of it, all described.

Christianity, however, lacks a nice description of what you do in heaven. This has lead me to believe that in heaven, you do the things that let you get into heaven.

you:

1. pray, but directly to god.
2. you enjoy the presence and knowlege of god
3. you did not sin and acted good

now; this hardly seems a reward, so we can assume this is not true. also, this would mean the original post's vision of hell was correct.

if we are to assume that christianity's well described hell (because christianity uses fear of hell more than want of heaven in helping convert people- think hellfire and damnnation speeches-), then we must assume that in heaven you get rewarded.

however; these rewards cannot be any sins.

therefore; the only possible rewards are:

1. angeldom.
2. eternal rest
3. relishing the presense of god.

now, the first two are nice, but if you are a true believer, the third should appeal the most.

and therefore: in heaven you relish the presense of god. pretty boring if you ask me.

In order to get into heaven, you must live to serve God.

I don't think of myself as serving God, per say, but serving others. I'm all about extending a helping hand to those in need. Selflessness.

Doing good deeds for the sole purpose of salvation is, to me, selfish. Selfishness will get you nowhere and all thats good and just will be overshadowed by the black of hearts.

My simple concept, however, seems highly illogical since we're self-centered by human nature. [I'm saving you time by replying to my own statement]

If God is our judge, why is it that we (speaking in generalities here) let Billy Graham, Creflo Dollar and the moral majority of America what's right and wrong?

Somehow it comes down to your conscience. To me, going to a village in Zaire and forcing Christianity is insane in its absurdity. To most Christians, it's spreading the word of God by being a good Missionary.

Christian Humanism is where its at for me.
