Not to mention the breast cancer foundation thing.. Which sells different bands, some more expensive. lol.
But anyway, I've seen quite a few people at my school with them. True, to some extent they are a fashion statement, but I agree with others that think that even thought it maybe be a fashion statement, at the same time it is donating. At least the Lance Armstrong Foundation is getting people who probably have NEVER donated any money, into donating something, even if it's just for a petty band. There are a great many who do buy the bracelets in order to donate, but you neglect the fact that so many have been sold to people who are probably stingy about their money. Just 1 dollar can help, especially from a great number of people. And to those who lost their friends, family, acquaintances, etc. to cancer, I'm sorry to hear that. Someday all this money and research WILL finally result in something... The cure for cancer. |

Why do you want to stop them? Even if they buy the band only for the trend, the profit is still going to the Livestrong Foundation, unless they buy it like at a store who keeps the profits..but most of the ones that people wear are authentic. Besides, the trend will eventually fade out..

I also believe we shouldn't stop LiveStrong.
I find your opinion and post distasteful and in ill favor. Stop LiveStrong? Because it became a fashion statement? I can totally point at you and say you are against finding a cure for cancer. Sure, you stated this reply in your post, but how can you discount my accusation? LiveStrong is LiveStrong. $1 from every bracelet is given to help find a cure. $1 is $1. A bracelet is a bracelet. You buy the bracelet for $1. The $1 goes to find a cure for cancer. The bracelet is for you to wear, put up on the wall, or anything you want. How about less bitching about causes for cures, and more bitching about the exploitation of children in sweatshops? How about more bitching about the illegal use of slaves to manufacture consumer items? Have you thought about that? All that profit doesn't go to causes, all those consumer items YOU wear everyday. How about "STOP CLOTHES!! OMGOMG!!!" |

^ You're just bitter because you don't want to pay 20-30$ for a fricken T-shirt. You numbnut.
But true, stop complaining about this fad. You're lucky it's not a fad where we KILL ANIMALS for a bracelet. Now THAT would be horrid. Poor moo moos. Moo moos are killed daily for our leather seats, couches, and jackets. |

I don't understand why you people are so uptight about it. I know the Livestrong bracelets are ugly; they really are. But think about charity in the past. What kind of publicity has it gotten? Almost none. Most people are too busy or selfish to give to charity. Now that Livestrong is a fashion statement, and people go out to buy them, why the hell not? Sure, it might not be totally moral, but at least you're raising money for a good cause.
I totally agree with Jeff (Datru Katalyst) when he says that it's ridiculous that you want to stop Livestrong because it's a fashioin statement. If anything, you are worse than those who buy Livestrong bracelets. At least those who buy them are contributing. You are trying to stop a good cause because it's "popular". Oh wow. That charitable personality of yours really shines out. Stop the bitching, seriously. |

Yes, I too, totally agree with Jeff.
You shouldn't be against LiveStrong bracelets just because they're a trend. They may be a trend, but each bracelet that is bought, helps them come one step closer to finding a cure for cancer. And millions of people die from cancer every year. YOUR A PERSON KILLER ! |

Oh my gosh.
Thank..you..so much. It has been bugging all this year, too. I bought the bracelet for the cause. I wear it because I support it. But I don't think we should ban it. i hate it how EVERYONE wears it because everyone else it. <=[ Thank you. |

That's true, people do 'donate' to the cancer foundation just for that band.
They really don't give a rat's ass about cancer, they're just wanting that band because all their friends are wearing it. |
