QUOTE(jordanriane @ Mar 15 2005, 12:15 AM) Even so, you should take into consideration the amount of people that don't even post here, that might visit that xanga, and leave id immediately because they do not know how to stop that music. Also, it's probably hell on dialup users. Just because you know how to go around it, or have a fast connection, you don't design it for yourself for the most part, you design it for the viewer. And about many things being misaligned, it's because people don't take the time to make sure that things are okay in both browers; nowadays people are too lazy to do that. Makes the creator look lazy, and just overall makes the viewer not want to even look anymore at the layout, knowing that the creator didn't take the time to consider the viewers. You are getting really annoying kid.. People don't need to design for both browsers. It's not that they're lazy it's just that different browsers read codes differently. I'm not going to get into that with you. Many people don't even have both browsers nor do they know how to design a xanga to look correctly on both browsers. Most designers I know try to at least makes things look correctly in IE since the majority of internet users use that. And one last thing. Grow up. |

I'm not a kid, so I don't need to be talked down to, thank-you. However, I also forget to take into consideration that this is all mainly xanga's, and people under the age of fourteen; that I apoligize for this, since I'm used to dealing with those that are of age, and create actual websites, not overrides for some journal site Honestly, I'm giving feedback, and being quite mature about it. I don't need to be frank, nor do I need to sugarcoat things for the crowd here. I do not need to grow up. Though I'd love to know exactly why I need to grow up. I'm not spitting out immature remarks, nor am I speaking in a "tone" that actually gives you the right to tell me to "grow up." G'day. |

I agree with you souldreamers.
Anyways, you are speaking in a tone that gives her and anybody a right to tell you to grow up or to be quiet. You type condescendingly and there's no need for that. And most people like souldreamers said, aren't able to view their xangas in multiple browsers and most people that design the layouts also don't know how to fix the codes in order for them to work in Firefox or elsewhere. And a lot of the times it's not all for the viewer but simply for themselves. So the only reason why they bother posting their xanga in the xanga showcase is because they want to improve on their skills. I know that I don't make my layouts just for the viewers of my site; I make it for myself. I'm sure you have IE so if it's such a big deal then view the xanga in IE where the majority of people do. It basically just sounds like you are the lazy one as well because you don't take the effort to view it in the browser used most. I don't mean to just yell at you about it or anything but in almost every topic in the xanga showcase you post something about Firefox. So sorry if I made you angry by anything I said, I just felt the need to say it. Back to the actual topic: The layout itself is a bit plain/simple but you said so yourself that you like it best that way so it's fine. It looks pretty good. I like how you have a moving background as well. So good job overall. |

So sorry if I made you angry by anything I said, I just felt the need to say it. Honoestly, I am not speaking in a tone that should give anyone the right to tell me to grow up. Quite frankly, anyone that does tell me to "grow up," obviously should take their own advice, in my opinion. However, I do realize that sometimes I'm too frank, and obviously people can get offended quite easily--as it's a problem I have, being too blunt, that is. Some people can take it, others can't. As far as me being lazy by not viewing it in IE; I'd rather not use IE, as it's such a weak program that could enable any sort of spyware/virus/adware to unleash itself upon my computer. I've had problems in the past with IE being a weak browser, which is why I use firefox. If it comes down to it, I usually DO open a site in IE, if it's a site that's unviewable in firefox, and I really want to view. Just understand what I also mentioned. I tend to forget that I'm viewing xangas--nothing special at all, they're not real websites, per se. So I do realize that sometimes it doesn't matter about the browser deal, etc. I, personally, am used to just viewing websites that friends have created for companies/bands/etc.. So I generally just speak as if I were viewing those sights, but to an extent. |

I think it's plain. Add a banner or some cool cursors. I love the backround though!
