Well yaaa, in elementary I had 5 best friends. We vowed to be best friends forever. Only two still contacts with me. We all splitted up... well, I did. I went to a different high school from them... they all went to the same one...
The problem is... All five of them, and some of their new friends that I have no idea is... was at one of my best friend's house... and it was such short notice but they invited me but I couldn't come over because I had volunteering. And now I think they are mad at me... They won't talk to me anymores... My new friends in my high school are really nice to me... They understand and actually listen... >< I wish my old friends were like that... ...Help me..? |

like what dahding said, it's change, you can't stop you're bestfriends from changing as all of you grow older. and since they go to a different school from you, the four of them and you won't have much in common anymore.
if you want, try talking to them. |

I agree with dahding.
People change over time. Just move on. I remember in elementary I had this one best friend that said we'll be best friends forever, but when I moved, everything changed and we didn't really talk to each other anymore. I'm still her friend, but just not best friends. Now I don't really believe in best friends. |

you made this promise in elementary school....be happy you got it to last till the end of middle school because to tell you the truth, promises like that rarely last forever. You grow up and you change...may it be a good change or a bad one. But if you're intent on keeping this promise....then talk to them...but if they don't respond to it...then maybe....it's time to move on..and concentrate on your life instead of trying to keep a promise that is near ending.

yea...pple change n promises break from wen ur that young. if u want to reconcile with them then talk to them n let them know wats going on. tell them wat happened n how u felt about going to ur friend's house where u didnt know most of the pple. if that doesnt work then just get over it n have fun with ur new friend's. it maybe a promise that u wanna keep n want them to keep but they just dont seem to care n e more. y should u?

ppl change over time... even though you think you're really close, it's really hard to keep friendships alive for so long without seeing each other much. try to reason with them, and if that doesnt work, you cant do anything except move on

First of all, They have no reason to be mad at you.
It was short notice for cryin out loud! they cant expect you to go somewhere if they call you like..what..an hour or two before? ~* your lucky that your friendsship lasted as long as it did.... sometimes, friendships dont even last like a year..  Just try talking to them and try to work it out..if they were really your friend they'd listen to you..and try to work things out instead of just totally ignoring you... are you sure they're ignoring you? maybe you're just being paranoid about it, because its so stupid to be angry at someone because they made a previous commitment. maybe they were just trying to find an excuse to be angry with you? but i'm not sure. just talk to them.

That is happening to two of my friends now. We all used ot be really good friends and now one of them won't hang out with the other and I'm in the middle. I guess it's just part of growing up and moving on..you might want to atleast try talking to them and explain that you still want to be friends. It might make a big difference!

I've got a problem like that too. I've had like 4 or 5 spats with me now ex-best friend over the past 2 weeks. The latest one was because of a post on my blog about how people eating on the train shouldn't be doing that, and it was inconsiderate. She thought I was directing it at her, and got mad, and started saying stuff like I was looking down on her, etc.
All this was after she made friends with these 2 other girls. I tried to show her how unreasonable she was being, and she said I was just jealous, and trying to control her life by not letting her make friends. We haven't broken up but she won't be my best friend. Now I don't believe in best friends. All they do is cause you hurt. |
