What kind of mother would you be? Options

We all complain about how our parents are "too-strict" or whatnot. So, explain what kind of mom you would be! Talk about the rules, what grades they should have, when they can date, when the girl can wear makeup, what you would do ti punish them, what you'd like them to wear, etc...

I think I'd be a pretty cool mom. I'd let her date at age 14, wear makeup at 13 (or entering middleschool) (cause i'll be a makeup arist/fashion designer ;D) and her/his grades must be 85+. Punishment: taking away tv & internet. Curfew for teenager: 11:45.. parties are exceptions (1:00am) Thats all I can think of for now.

I think i would be a pretty good mom I would always want to be there for my kids ya know? If they have a soccer or basketball game i always want to show up. I would want to spend lots of time with them. As for punishments and stuff, I dunno yet. Each kid is different. I would want them to have the best childhood too, the best life i could give them. I wouldn't want them watching all this trash and stuff on tv, and would want them to grow up in a home where there is peace and no fighting. I would want them to feel like they could talk to me about anything. and have a really close relationship. I would want them, and my husband to be so inlove with God. lol and Gods going to really help me with being the best mother i possibly can be, cuz apparently its not easy hehe

hmm..i dont live with my parents...i live with my grandmother so...iernoo...but im definitely not going to be a typical korean mom (wanting there kids to have perfect grades and want you to study right from when you come home to like the next friggin day) like when i came home with a 98 test she'd be like "where's the other 2 points?" it's so discouragingg...sighh

Haha what a cool topic...anywho..I would be strict yet cool..erm..hard to explain kinda..but I want to be the kind of mom who freaks out when her child gets a C or something..my kid would have to have a B or higher..if not..then..no computer, TV, video games, phone..and all that good stuff...heheh..but then I want to be close with my kid(s) so they don't hate me or anything..all I know is, is that I like handling little kids and I think that I'm a good teacher..like if my kid was to say something foul..then I would be all, "NO! Only mean kids say bad words like that! And your not a mean kid!"..Yup..I actually have it all planned out..

- Allowed a boy/girl friend whenever they want.
- Wear make-up more publicly when she goes to secondary school (11/12) but not too much
- Curfew ~ Younger then 11 = 8pm, 11 - 14 = 9pm, 15/16 - 10/11pm. After 16 - whenever as long as they tell me the time they'll be back.
- Punishment ~ Younger than 13 = Grounded. 13/14 + = Stuff they enjoy doing taken away.
- Schooling ~ Public school. Doesn't bother me.
- Piercings ~ Depends on what ones. Ears = Any age. Navel = 11 + Facial piercings = 14 +
- I'll go shopping with them to help decide their clothes.. and make sure they don't choose something too extreme. They can choose their own clothes when they're 13/14 but I'll decide whether they're appropriate enough for wearing.
- They can drink alcohol at special occasions, when they're 15 they can drink with their friends.
- Smoking not tolerated at all.
- Can try drugs but not make regular use of it to become addicted otherwise I'll kick their ass out of the house.
- Sleepovers allowed. Opposite sex's allowed to sleep over when they're 15.
- Bf/gf can sleep over from 15. They can sleep in the same room. They can be sexually active as long as they practice safe sex and don't disturb me.
- Grades ~ As long as their in the top 2 sets for the subjects and I don't get no bad reports home, I'm fine with them.
- Pocket money every week. Amount varies on what they've done throughout that week.
- I'll give them the things they need when they ask. I won't give them stuff just for the sake of them wanting it.
- Tell them that fighting isn't acceptable but if the other person hits you, by all means hit them back.
- I won't bring them up religiously as I myself aint religious but if they choose to be than they can, as long as they don't start saying "I can't do that because the bible(or something else) says I can't.
- Make sure they're active from a young age. Maybe join a sports team in junior school.
- I'd prefer it if she didn't start being sexually active before 13. I'd also prefer it if she didn't have sex for the first time before she was 15.

- dating age=12/13
- curfew: 12 to 15- 8pm, 16 to 18- 11pm, if they're still living with me AND going to college or working= whenever...as long as it's decent...like they can't stay out until 3am when they have a 8am job/class
- grades...80's would be nice...it wouldn't really matter, as long as they're trying
- makeup: whenever...as long as it's not too over the top
- punishment: i'd make him/her write me a long letter about what they did wrong so they recognize the problem and how they will improve...taking things away will just get make them worse
- wear whatever they want to wear...as long as it's not slutty
- friends can stay over...but friends of the opposite sex can't stay in the same room unless there's a group of the kids mixed together

IF i have children, i would try to do whatevers best for them? i dunno... it depends on the kid i guess.
i don't hate my parents, i guess i would probably be like my parents when i grow up. heh.

Umm..lets see..these would be my only rules:

~Have grades above 70%, and if they have missing assignments, then they would have to study with me =)
~No bedtime
~They can wear makeup
~They can wear whatever they want, as long as they don`t look too slutty
~They can have boyfriends/girlfriends as long as they aren`t druggies/alcoholics if they are under 17
~Curfews: 12-15: 10 pm, 16-18: 12 pm.
