I never told my mom when I first got my period. I was a bit embarressed and wanted to keep it to myself. I didn't know what I was doing though, so I don't believe I wore pads or anything. I got the summer before fifth grade, before they even teach you anything about puberty and periods. It sucked since I was absolutely clueless.
But I ended up telling my cousin, who was a few years older, when I spent the night over at our grandparent's house.. Which is when my mom found out. Needless to say, she opened up some health program on the computer and started telling me about puberty, my period, and sex. The worst part was that she wanted my dad to talk to me about it too, but that didn't go by well ;) |

lol i put off telling her until like that evening ( got in in the morning) and was all hey mom, I got my period and I don't wanna talk about it, but if you could buy me some pads that'd be great. it was funny. i still just like, don't ever discuss it.

Haha. I told my mom I got my period, and she kinda just froze. Then she got up and started teaching me all this crap about it.
I remember I was really freaked out. I cried at school. |

lol my mom didn't teach me anything, thank god. i guess she would have, had i asked though. the only thing that i worry is that i'm sure she's secretly told half the world.

haha thats funny ^. well umm i realized i got it right when i woke up so i called my mom since she leaves before i wake up and i told her:
me: mom i got my period mom: oh wow are u sure its your period? me: O_o yes mom im sure mom: k put on a pad then then when i got back from school: mom: im so happy for you me: why mom: because now you're a woman and can have babies me: yay O_o [sarcasm] |

I got mine the last day of our vacation. I couldn't walk the cramps were so bad. I didn't really need to tell her, she just understood. She let me lay on the couch while they packed everything, so I felt bad. But she said it was all fine, she had really bad cramps her first time too. It really wasn't awkward.

I was at my grandmas when I got my first period...and I had to call my mom and tell her. She freaked out and kept asking if I was okay and if I wanted her to come get me. She was really worried..I don't know why. But she was.
She ended up coming to showing up at my grandmas about an hour after I called.
