Early morning rant about Christianity.

Christianity is just like every other religion and Americans are just like every other peoples. We're all out to be number one, and we all hope that we get to live another day and that when we die, we're remembered. The only difference is the way that we want to be remembered. Some of us want to be remembered by what we accomplish, the lives we lived, and how we treated others. Some want to be remembered by being reincarnated as something new in another life. There's a group of people that want to be remembered as being the best people, the most pious people, the group that sacrifices the most, wins the least and places all hope in a man that died for believing he was half-God. The sun of the only Jewish God. He died for believing that, for preaching that belief, for corrupting the Jews of his day with such beliefs, for speaking out against a society controlled and obcessed with their beliefs, a society that thought they were chosen. Chosen to lead all mankind. Jesus was and is just a man who died and left a series of really powerful stories behind him. He is a role model not because of how he died or why he died, as his followers tend to believe. He is a role model because he stood up for what he believed in and died for it. He did NOT die for OUR sins. He stood steady in his beliefs and died for his OWN sin, the supposed sin of breaking the law. Jesus was a lot like a death row inmate, he knew that he was going to die. No heavenly father had to tell him that he was going to die. He knew that if he didn't stop preaching his heretical beliefs, that he was going to be killed by the Pharisees,the Jewish community, and the Romans. The Romans only executed him because he was causing a disturbance. The Pharisees and Jews had him executed because they feared change. |
