I searched through the [entertainment] forum to see if a prior thread pertaining to the aforementioned subject had been made, and didn't see any.. soo.
Personally, I'm a book-worm. Always have been since I was younger (was an avid collecter of the The Berenstain Bears' books). List your favorite books and/or authors. Authors: - Richard Wright - Alice Sebold - Dean Koontz - Anne Rice - Stephen King - Sandra Brown Books: - Native Son by Richard Wright - Good In Bed by Jennifer Weiner - From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz - The Big Picture by Douglas Kennedy - White Hot by Sandra Brown |

QUOTE(jordanriane @ Mar 9 2005, 6:23 PM) For this year I decided to make a list of every book I read and/or reread, so I can see how many books I've read, and whatnot. For school I probably read more books then I did after I was done with it. I was either bored in class, so I brought books to read, or I finished the required reading for my Lit and American Novel classes, so I just read books for enjoyment. I had this thing where I would read beyond the homework given (aka, read chapters 1-3) because well, I don't read a book, and just put it down until I have to read it again. So I always read the book the first two days I got it. Well, except for the Scarlet Letter. The one book in my entire education thus far that I never read. I skimmed it for quizzes and such, but. yeah. Worst book, ever. I agree- The Scarlet Letter was a terrible book. It was the only book that I actually read through the whole way, and I didn't like it that much. And same here with the chapter thing, I usually go beyond the required reading, unless it's really boring or something. Hah, my boyfriend and I were just having a talk similar to this earlier today on the train. Well, some of my favorite books are: Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code- Dan Brown Catcher in The Rye- J.D. Salinger Of Mice and Men, The Pearl- John Steinbeck Harry Potter- J.K. Rowling Oh, I'm reading The Great Gatsby now, for an APUSH term project, and it seems interesting to far. |

QUOTE(jordanriane @ Mar 9 2005, 7:07 PM) I can't remember much of what books I read during my sophomore year. That was my year of rebelling aka dropping out of all of my honors classes to piss off my parents. I think we read some Greek Mythology, always a favorite of mine. Oh, it was Othello we read. I remember, I got the only A +5 ec points. mwaha. That, and when she played the newer version of the movie 'O', she didn't know about the newer sex scene, so of course immature comments went throughout the room. hah. i love mythology. last year we read the abriged oddysey and considered it the extent of our mythology lesson. i resented it immensely. haha, we wanted to watch the crucible movie, so we did, but they cut out the nudity QUOTE(linke3 @ Mar 9 2005, 8:19 PM) i just finished it. it was great |

Aw, I loved reading the Oddysey. Other books we read: The Iliad Antigone Oedipus I'm sure there were others; I can't remember them anymore. That being said, I'm definitely making sure I register for either a ancient Roman Literature, or Greek Mythology Class for next semester. |

Yeah, for Oedipus, we read from a book, and I believe Antigone was through the literature book.
Once you register/go to college, you'll be able to register for classes like that. :) That's the great thing about it, you can specify what you'd like to take, rather then how general highschool classes are. |

My favorite author is Sophie Kinsella and her book, Confessions of a Shopaholic. I'm reading the second one now. I also like The Face on the Milk Carton. That was a good book.

Wow ,how sorry is it that no one has said George Orwell's name ? ...... in my opinion Animal Farm and 1984 are the best books ever . Easy to read. Easy to understand . The symbols and theme of these 2 books come to you mind in a relaxing fashion . There pretty much the only books i have ever enjoyed reading .
