How about they try reading the community guidelines before posting? Is that too hard for them to do? Apparently, yes? Well, if that's too hard to do then... TOO BAD. Rules are RULES. Why do you think we have them? Just to have them?

You need to "get over" what's none of your business. Moderators have a job to do and even we have guidelines to follow.

Rules are rules.
But I dont blame the newbies who are clueless.
But then again, there's the community guidelines.
And then I dont know what the community guidelines tell you about where to put topics.
*reads community guidelines*

Well if you're wondering what Rules I'm talking about:

NO DUPLICATE TOPICS
If a topic exists a couple of pages away covering the same issues then the new one
will be deleted or merged. Look through the pages to see if it has already been posted, if not then it should be okay to post.

NO POSTING IN WRONG FORUM
If you have a question about xanga (or other specific) question don't post it in lounge
If it contains a xanga post in xanga help and etc.
If you are new, try posting in a introduction thread.
Also try to avoid off-topic posts in existing threads

NO CROSS-POSTING THE SAME TOPIC
Do not post the same topic in more than one forum.
This is treated as spam.

We have no tolerance for spam... (we're not talking about the canned spam either). Do you have any more questions/complaints/suggestions? Or else this discussion will be closed.

I don't know why people get pissed off. I don't. But rules are rules and newbies tend not to read them. So we just have to correct them when they do something wrong.

Sure, it's not annoying to you, someone who's joined in February. You've only probably seen it once, and besides, you're not the one that has to move it around, search for topics, and close them. If you've been here for months or even years like some people have, you will understand that this is EXTREMELY annoying.

Double posting creates spam. Spam is not tolerated. Multiple topics creates spam. Spam is not tolerated. Topics in the wrong forums makes createBlog all disorganized...rules are rules.

I understand that it would be annoying to a mod or someone that's been here way longer than I have but there is also no way of making people read the rules. So I guess people are just going to have to deal with the fact that newbies get lost and confused. That's all. But no I don't think I've been defended..*thinks really hard*

Offended instead of defended, maybe? huh.gif

If people are not reading the rules, then they shouldn't be complaining when their topics are closed.

I'll let uninspired have the honors in closing this SPAM!

Close it because it's a complaint that could've been dealt with through the CB provided PM system. Yah?
