My fiance just got deployed to over seas. He seems so young, he looks it 2 (hes 20 tho) So many soldiers are going over there, and some of them seem so young. I mean can an 18 year old handle being in Iraq? I sure hope so. Do you think you could last over there?

He has so much to live for.....

So do you think you could handle it?

if this doesnt go in this forum im sorry.. im learning wink.gif

I'm sorry that he got deployed. I don't think I can handle it. I'm a girly girl when it comes to fighting and stuff. I just don't think I would emotionally be able to handle it.

Wow, he looks young.
And that's the worst thing to happen, to have someone you love go over to fight.

Anyways, I don't think I would make it. I would run away every chance I got.

Good luck to your fiance and you! Oh, and congrats.

wow, I have so much respect for him.
of course if I had to, I would. I don't think there's a better way of dying than to die serving your country, even if you don't agree with the war.

I would never do that. For one thing, I am not cut out for this stuff. I am not that physical at all and do not have the mentality for it _smile.gif

yeah well once your 18 you considered an adult right? And as an adult you have a choice to go serve in the army, and maybe if you're younger you not mature enough or something. My friend/neighbor's brother went to fight in iraq.

Maybe she meant that this whole war would not have been in the first place if politicians had their children out in the war. mellow.gif

Hm, I don't think they should, unless they're generous enough to fight and save the country and all that junk. :\ Of course, a lot of loved ones have been lost.. but he's young. Maybe they should still keep 25+ to go to iraq.. and the underaged to stay and train. But.. it's all the soldiers' choice in my point of view.

good luck to your...fiance....i went to marine bootcamp..when i turned 18..with 2 years of college already under my belt....but fractured my leg in the field training course...and eventually dropped out of the bootcamp.....soon i ended up going back to college after the summer....i took it as a message for me not to go out there....that's not my fight over there...it's the power hungry politicians...let them fight there own war... im doing pretty well off at the moment....but i still want to say "thanks to all the soilders who put there lives on the line for people they do not even know"... i now am a second semester junior in college double majoring in Computer Science/Information Technology and have much to look foward to...

I use to want to join the military and believed that I could handle it emotionally, but after the war broke out, my outlook on it changed. I guess whether or not a person can handle such a thing depends on the individual.

I'll keep your fiance in my prayers so he, along with all the troops, return home safely. Take care.

i would never want to fight in a war....

but if it were something big, and was truly needed for the protection of my family and loved ones, then yes, i might do it.....

...but i would never go and die for Bush's god damn war for oil...

I am very sorry to hear that your fiance, Brian, is to be deployed in Iraq. It seems that he is very young to join a war affair. I wish him luck during his heroic battle to defend the United States. flowers.gif
