From 10:30 PM to 12:00 AM central, it was the Subliminal Verses Night on Rockline Radio. It was aired on many radio stations throughout the U.S.

Anyway...

I called in about 500 times total on 3 phones combined and I finally GOT THROUGH.

The representatives for each band were...

Brian Fair for Shadows Fall,
Randy Blythe for Lamb of God,
and Shawn Crahan for Slipknot.

I called in and the people at Rockline Radio asked me if I wouldn't mind asking Brian a question. My original plan was to ask Shawn a question, but I wasn't going to argue at that point.

So I was fourth in-line to talk at that speaking time....so yeah. I sat there just DYING to speak with them while three other people talked...

Anyway, it was finally my turn!
I was so nervous. I forgot what I was going to say.
I could barely even say hello.

So finally, I said "Hey, guys!!" and then I added in a "Hey, Shawn!!!" before I asked my question. ;x
...And they all said "hi" back! ;D

Anyway, I then asked Brian about a Shadows Fall song and he gave me a HUGE explanation. It was great.

Then I said goodbye to all three of them and yeah.

So I basically spoke with 3 people that I musically look up to.

I suppose I should make this thread worthwhile..

Were any of you listening in tonight?
Have any of you ever called into a radio show with celebrities/musical artists there?
If yes, did you get through?
If yes to that, whom did you speak to?

--

Yep...I just had to share my excitement with you guys.
Thanks for reading.

Ooh. I didn't know that. Hm, how come my friend, Steve never mentioned it when he's like a total rock freak haha. That's cool that you get to talk to them on the radio station. My sister did it once, but I never. I suck at it too.

Yeah, it's hard to get through....especially if it's an international thing. People in other countries were calling in the night I was as well, so I'm just honored that I got through and I got a few minutes to talk to them.

My boyfriend Phil used to be a HUGE Rockline fanatic. He's talked to the Offspring, Disturbed and Stone Sour. Actually, he talked to Corey Taylor. He got free cds from Disturbed and Stone Sour. Here in KC, Rockline is like the best thing on the rock station. the rest of the time it is crap. except for the late night segment where they bust out the hard stuff like Slayer and Six Feet Under and other hard moshing music.

Oh well, I'm glad you got through and got to talk to your idols on the phone. that's always cool. Brain Fair is pretty cool. I met him briefly outside a venue in 2002. Didn't really talk to him but he was really cool to all the people who wanted autographs and stuff.

My personal favorite meeting a band story was the time that Phil, John, and I walked like three blocks with the band Bleeding Through. We followed them to the venue and Phil talked to them about goth music and stuff. We didn't even know that they were Bleeding Through until we got to the venue and this guy creamed himself and asked them to sign his cd and his hat. After they left, we asked the guy who they were. When he told us, the three of us felt REALLY freakin' stupid.

Well, I've tried to call and request, but I never succeeded. No one ever answered. Which sucks. I never heard that song that day either.
