we are doing this to raise money for poor/starving kids around the world who have no money to buy their own food. the money will go to a christian organization called World Vision.. a dollar a day helps care/feed a child for a day, 30 dollars helps care/feed a child for a whole month etc.

http://www.30hourfamine.org/ is the main site i think.

My youth group did it, but I was not allowed to participate. My parents (and my boyfriend) said that I don't eat enough as is, and I didn't need to be going that long without food. They make me eat anyhow, because I only eat when I am hungry, and I only get hungry once every day or so.

However, I am doing "1,000 Wells". I go with no drink but water for two weeks, and send all the money that I didn't spend on soda and stuff to the foundation.

are you kidding blink.gif ? are they trying to kill us or something? what's the point of doing that, and don't tell me it's to raise money because there are lots of logical ways to do that. I've never heard of that fundraiser before.

It isn't as hard as many of you are making it out to be. My boyfriend did it with our church, and I regularly go without food for nearly that long. He said it was actually pretty easy (and this is a guy who loves food), because the youth kept themselves entertained playing games, watching movies, ect. A few times he got hungry, but for the most part it was too distracting to get really hungry.
