Hey, I'm kind of dumb. Help me out.
How do you change what each of those keys does on your keyboard? Like the music one, internet browser one, music one, etc etc. If it depends on each computer, mine's a laptop. HP Pavillion zx5000. |

You cant change it for the ones on the labtop, because they are part o the computer. But if u by an external keyboard and instal it with software (this applies too desktops too) you can change the function. I have the MX700 mouse and keyboard wireless set, and you can change the functions of like the webcam and internetbrower button.

QUOTE(largosama @ Mar 5 2005, 8:42 PM) i'm sure you can change them, but the work required to do that probably isn't worth the time. I'm guessing you'd have to resolder things... unless there is a way to do it with software. |

i'm wondering... why the heck people are talking about rewireing...
the buttons run off a program installed by your computer manufacturer. for example; my laptop is made by toshiba. the shortcut keys can be changed from the toshiba program utilities. you need to look around in the software from HP. one of these will control the shortcut keys. |

Yeah, that's what I just did.... the rewiring argument seemed to come out of nowhere for me too. Thanks for the tip... it woulda helped. |

QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Mar 7 2005, 9:24 PM) I like to do things the most complicated way. kidding. i don't own one of these keyboards with shortcuts, nor have i really used one, so I had no idea. but I'm sure it's somewhere in the control panel. |
