I only know english. dang, do you have a special keyboard for that writing or something? blink.gif
*

first of all, ne how ne mahn!! (heyy u guys) wo yei shwo gon wen! (i speak chinese too)cool.gif

and to answer that, u can use a regular english keyboard. chinese basically has two sets of written language, although we dont use the second very often in real life. first is normal characters, which look like pictures to non-chinese people. second, the second one is called pin yin, similar to the letters in english, i think 26 in all. looks like simple symbols, similar to the letters in english, only we dont use this in normal communication. pin yin is there just to tell you how a word is pronounced and which tone it has (i hate the four tones in mandarin, and i think there's 8 in cantonese....8?!?!?!? pinch.gif ).

on the keyboard, each english letter represents one of the pin yin letters, which can be used to "spell" out how the word u r trying to type. although there are other ways to type chinese, i only kno this slow and painful method. stubborn.gif

yes, chinese is complicated. wo bu shi huan shua zhon wen (i dont like to learn chinese)....and im not good with pin yin either.

i went to chinese school all my life too, and i quit this year (freshman year).

Oh gawd, that's like me. I can speak it, but not spell it. rolleyes.gif

Woot! Go Chinese School quitters! tongue.gif I quit after like 3 years

I have the chinese characters thingy so I can see it but I'm afraid I'll only be able to type random words that probably don't make sense. I know the basics like "wo" "ni" "ziao" "da" sad.gif

That was Canto, right? But...at the end it was like Mandarin!

English-Canto is hard. Hanyu Pinyin is easy =]

Yes, but I suck at associating the chinese sounds with the english alphabet sad.gif

I can understand more Mandarin than I can speak it. I use to be real fluent when I was little, cause I came to the States when I was like 6. But I kinda forgot half of the language. I can barely a basic conversation though happy.gif
